Texas authorities say a 23-year-old high school teacher has confessed to having sex with a 15-year-old student in a car.
Erica Dinora Gomez, who taught at Bowie High School in Austin, was arrested and booked into Travis County Jail on Monday.
She faces between two and 20 years in prison for sexual assault of a child and an improper relationship between an educator and a student, according to Austin American-Statesman.
Her bail has been set at $75,000.
Investigators said they became aware of the alleged relationship after the boy’s mother heard the front door of her apartment open and close early Sunday morning.
The mother went to her son’s bedroom and found him lying on his bed fully clothed.
While he slept, she began searching through his cell phone, according to authorities.
Investigators say that she found explicit messages sent to her son by a woman on Snapchat.
The messages were sent by a Snapchat user with the name ‘Ericadinora,’ the arrest report states.

The mother then entered the name in a search on Facebook. She noticed that the woman who appeared was once her son’s math tutor.
The messages in the Snapchat texts talk of ‘fun in the back seat’,
‘Babe... We’ve had car sex twice... Like that blows my mind LOL,’ another message is alleged to have read.
Austin police said that both the teacher and the student admitted to the relationship.
According to her social media pages, Gomez graduated from the University of Texas last year.
She is alleged to have told police that she met the student in January. Their sexual relationship, however, did not start until August, the arrest report states.
The teacher and student had sex between four and five times over the past few months, according to investigators.
Bowie High School promptly fired Gomez and sent a letter to parents.
The school has also made counselors available to students who need support.
