An English woman returned to her Cumbria home recently to find a spooky image left on her window.

Sally Arnold discovered a perfect white imprint of an owl in her Kendal home, complete with eyes, a beak and feathers, BBC reports.

The silhouette was left by a substance that protects the bird's growing feathers, called "powder down".

Mrs Arnold said she was concerned about the welfare of the bird so immediately started looking in her garden but could find no sign of it.

"Fortunately, there was no sign of the bird and we can only assume that it had flown away probably suffering from a headache," she said.

The animal was most likely a tawny owl because of its size and shape, according to experts from the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.

I'd spray a protective coating over it, remove the window, and sell it.
