Drivers in downtown Calgary took their traffic troubles to social media after a transport truck became stuck underneath a train bridge on Wednesday night.

Carol Henke with the Calgary Fire Department said emergency crews were called to the 1st Street S.W. underpass just south of the Canadian Pacific Railway building at 9th Avenue S.W. around 7 p.m.

Henke said a transport truck carrying four new cars and trucks were “wedged in” underneath the bridge while also becoming “dislodged from the trailer.”

Members of the Calgary Fire Department heavy rescue team were called in to dislodge the vehicles. Henke said crews let air out of the damaged vehicles’ tires before strapping them down.

A heavy rotator crane could be seen removing the vehicles from the transport trailer.

Henke said city and railroad crews were called in to assess any damage to the bridge and a large tow truck was able to pull the transport unit free of the underpass.

No injuries were reported in what Henke called a “unique incident.”

 That's my 'hood!

Same place a few years ago...lady bus driver drove her bus (attempted, then big sound, sudden stop) under that bridge. In court she said and I quote, " I thought I was in my personal vehicle driving home after work."

Really gives a person faith in the public transit biz
