A raving wildman smashed the car windows of a Midtown motorist, beat him in the head with a bicycle lock — then jumped atop the vehicle and howled to the heavens, cops said Wednesday.
The rampage began about 1:20 p.m. last Friday on E. 40th St. and Fifth Ave., where the suspect darted in and out of traffic, then suddenly used a bicycle lock to shatter the front and rear windshield of a 23-year-old man’s car, police said.
When the motorist got out of his car to avoid the shattered glass, the loon clocked him in the head with the lock.
A cell phone video caught the man as he climbed on top of the car’s roof, bent his knees and shouted, then raised his arms as if to praise the sun. He then turned around, and again thrust his arms to the sky, walked on the car hood and back to the street.

Police said the suspect hopped on a black-and-green bicycle and pedaled west on E. 40th St. He remains at large.
The victim went to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Cops ask anyone with information about him to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.
