Apparently the potential presidential run of former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz isn’t just freaking out Lefty writers on Twitter, it’s also starting to panic former Obama bros.
Tom Elliott, the founder and editor of Grabien, has gathered a list of former Obama officials sounding off on the former CEO’s possible presidential run, with former deputy chief of staff and 2012 campaign manager Jim Messina going apoplectic on Twitter.
“On morning Joe, Howard Schultz refuses to respond to my point that he can’t win and will instead ruin the world by re-electing Donald Trump. Denial is NOT just a river in Egypt,” Messina tweeted.

“Ruin the world”? Last I checked, the world isn’t “ruined” so far by having President Donald Trump, just as the world wasn’t “ruined” by President Barack Obama’s disastrous policies.
Similarly, Obama’s former National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor tweeted in response to Schultz saying on CBS that he wants to “unite the country.”
“This is some warmed-over vapid bullshit,” Vietor tweeted, as if Obama never said anything like this.

Former Obama senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer also responded to the CBS interview on Twitter, writing “The average American know exponentially more about coffee than @HowardSchultz knows about running for President, not to mention being President.”

Former deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes also tweeted about Schultz’s potential run.
“Area billionaire thinks he will connect with Ordinary American People by reciting warmed over consultant edited pablum version of what he says to other billionaires at shared vacation destinations,” Rhodes tweeted.

Rhodes has also spent the last day retweeting his Obama bro buddies as they mocked Schultz. Former Obama speechwriter Jon Lovett asked if Schultz was “actually FOR anything” and called Schultz’s announcement “Days of word salad.” The same could have been said about Obama during the beginning of his presidential run in 2008.
Lovett also wrote Schultz an open letter imploring him to “get your head out of your ass” and drop out before even officially announcing:
You want to help your country? Help us defeat the propaganda machine that enables Trump and the worst elements of the Republican Party. Help us push back against corporate interests arrayed against action on climate change. Fund local journalism. Fund scholarships. Fund voter registration and protection. And, if you believe in the case you’d make as an independent candidate, join the Democratic primary and make that case before the voters you’d need to win. Put some skin in the game. Put some time on the trail. Because unlike money, time and skin are as limited for you as they are for the rest of us.
On his podcast, Pod Save America, former Obama speechwriter Jon Favreau lamented Schultz running as an Independent and not as a Democrat, because that could hurt the Democrat nominee’s chances against Trump, which, he said, is a “f***ing awful thing to do.”
As Elliott reports at Grabien, it is actually a former Obama official helping Schultz, as former aide Bill Burton is reportedly helping to run communications for Schultz.
