RANDLEMAN — Police are searching for the second suspect in an alleged robbery and assault that began in a bedroom closet and ended with a man losing his pants with $10,000 in the pocket.

According to a press release from the Randleman Police Department, officers responded to 120 Sibbett St., Randleman, in reference to an assault around 10:20 p.m. on Jan. 28.

When officers arrived they spoke with the victim, Christopher Justin Hancock, 37, of Franklinville and his girlfriend.

Hancock told officers that he and his girlfriend have an open relationship and he can have sex with other people.

Hancock and his girlfriend were visiting 120 Sibbett St. for Hancock to have sex with a female who lives there.

When Hancock and his girlfriend arrived at the residence, they were greeted at the door by the woman. The girlfriend sat on the couch while Hancock and the woman went to the upstairs bedroom.

Once in the bedroom, both undressed. At that time, Hancock stated that two men came into the bedroom.

Hancock attempted to run when one of the men began hitting him in the face and grabbed him around the throat, choking him until he was unconscious. When Hancock revived, the two men were gone — along with his pants.

Hancock picked up another pair of pants and ran downstairs and out the front door.

The victim told officers that he had $10,000 in the pocket of his pants that were stolen.

Bryce Cicero Mason, 23, of 782 W. Main St., Franklinville, has been arrested and charged with common law robbery, possession of stolen property, assault and battery and assault by strangulation. Mason was placed in the Randolph County Jail under a $150,000 secured bond.

Gracelynn Gabrielle Brandeberry, 26, who lives at 120 Honeycutt St., Randleman, was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact as a result of being uncooperative during the investigation and giving officers false information on the identity of Mason, whom she is dating. Brandeberry was placed in the Randolph County Jail under a $26,000 secured bond.

Police are looking for the second man, Brandon Michael Cooke, 23, unknown address.

Cooke has been charged with common law robbery, possession of stolen property, assault and battery and assault by strangulation.
