Felicity Huffman, an actress ensnared in an alleged college admissions cheating scandal, was reportedly greeted by FBI agents with their guns drawn Tuesday morning at her Los Angeles home.

Huffman, best known for her role in ABC’s “Desperate Housewives,” was implicated in the massive college admissions cheating scandal along with other wealthy and famous parents who allegedly paid millions to have their children placed in elite universities.

A source told the Los Angeles Times that Huffman and other defendants had recently received notice that they might face arrest. Sources familiar with Huffman’s arrest told the paper that FBI agents with guns drawn showed up at the actress’ home at 6 a.m. to take her into custody.

The FBI did not use a tactical team to arrest Huffman, but had their guns drawn as a precaution “based on the circumstances during the execution of any warrant,” Laura Eimiller, an FBI spokeswoman, told Fox News. Eimiller also noted that "the arrest team that executed the warrant at defendant Huffman's location is consistent with the size of the teams that executed warrants at all of the arrest locations today (13 locations)," and that no tactical teams were used.

Huffman made a brief court appearance later Tuesday afternoon where the judge asked her: “I’m not asking you to admit or deny the charges against you but do you understand what the government claims you did?” She replied: “Yes.”

Her husband, actor William H. Macy, sat in court as the judge ordered her released on a $250,000 bond. Huffman is scheduled to appear in court March 29 in Boston.

Huffman, 54, allegedly paid $15,000, disguised as a charitable donation, so her daughter could take part in the college entrance-exam cheating scam, according to court documents.

Court papers said a cooperating witness met with Huffman and Macy at their Los Angeles home and explained to them that he "controlled" an SAT testing center and could have somebody correct her daughter's wrong answers. The person told investigators the couple agreed to the plan.

Their daughter, Sofia, an aspiring actress who attends Los Angeles High School of the Arts, allegedly took the test in Dec. 2017 and got a score of 1420, a 400-point improvement from her first test, the LA Times reported.

Huffman and several other defendants were charged with conspiracy to commit fraud, punishable by up to 20 years in prison. Macy was not charged; authorities did not say why.

David Mamet, Oscar-nominated writer of “Wag the Dog” and “The Verdict,” came to their defense in the form of an open letter, citing the double standards that exist in the admissions process and calling many of its policies a “corrupt joke,” Deadline reported.

“The unqualified may be accepted for many reasons, among them, as Legacies, and on account of large donations made by their parents,” Mamet wrote. “I do not see the difference between getting a kid into school by bribing the Building Committee, and by bribing someone else. But, apparently, the second is against the Law. So be it.”

The 50 parents ensnared in the massive cheating scandal allegedly funneled money to William Rick Singer, the California man pinpointed as the scheme’s “ringleader.” The money was allegedly used to bribe athletic coaches or for help cheating on entrance exams so their children could be admitted into prestigious schools, including Yale, Georgetown, Stanford, and University of Southern California.

No students have been charged, with authorities saying that in many cases the teenagers were unaware of their parents’ plans. Several of the colleges involved made no mention of taking action against the students.

Another big celebrity name on the list was actress Laurie Loughlin, known for playing Aunt Becky on the family sitcom “Full House.” Loughlin and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, both face charges for allegedly giving $500,000 to have their two daughters’ athletic records falsified.

Giannulli was released on a $1 million dollar bond and had his travel restricted to the continental United States. Loughlin was expected to surrender Wednesday, according to a report.

Felicity Huffman played a great role in American Crime season two as the principal of an affluent school where a gay student was raped by a supposedly straight basketball team member, then he gets a gun and..

Her character was portrayed as wanting to do the right thing after the rape, then found to be a scumbag because she was caught trying to cover up the incident because of the wealth most parents of the basketball team had.

And I did not know Macy was her husband. Hmm.

They've caught at least 50 parents in this ring with over $25 million in bribes paid... just one of many I'm sure. It's like George Carlin said: "It's a big club, and you aint in it"

A woman is suing Felicity Huffman, Lori Loughlin and others involved in an admissions scam for $500 billion, claiming that the two prevented her son's admission into colleges.

Jennifer Kay Toy, a teacher from Oakland, Calif., said her son Joshua did not get into many of the schools implicated in a wide ranging college admissions scandal involving the actresses.

"Joshua applied to some of the colleges where the cheating took place and did not get in," Toy said in the fraud class action suit filed in a San Francisco court.

"Joshua and I believed that he’d had a fair chance just like all other applicants but did not make the cut for some undisclosed reason."

"I’m outraged and hurt because I feel that my son, my only child, was denied access to a college not because he failed to work and study hard enough but because wealthy individuals felt that it was ok to lie, cheat, steal and bribe their children’s way into a good college."

Huffman and Loughlin were among the roughly 30 parents charged Tuesday in what officials have called the “largest college admissions scam ever prosecuted by the Department of Justice.”

Those involved in the scam allegedly sought to get students admitted to colleges and universities by forging athletic records, bribing coaches and cheating on college entrance exams.

Toy's is not the first lawsuit following the reveal of the scam.

Two Stanford University students filed a lawsuit against eight elite universities arguing they were not given an equal admission opportunity and that their degrees are less valuable because of the scandal.

Check out American Crime season two. It's a deadly serious drama and Huffman plays a high school principal who tries to cover up some bullying done by members of the basketball team against a gay kid. The basketball team member's parents donate heavily to the school and when events spiral out of control, Huffman's character is caught and exposed.

Not a one for one, but a great miniseries featuring excellent performances covering a huge variety of issues during the main story.

Jay Leno speaks out on college admissions scam, calls it the ‘legal definition of white privilege’

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Jay Leno had a lot to say about the nationwide college admissions scandal that rocked the country on Monday.

The funnyman spoke to Fox News on Wednesday and didn’t hold back in his ridicule towards Hollywood elites who game the system to get ahead.

“This is a great time for everybody but white guys,” Leno, 68, began. “Like this stupid college thing that’s going on, that just broke this week – that is the ultimate… you know, I always hear the term 'white privilege,' and what does that mean – this is the legal definition of it.”

The longtime “Tonight Show” host explained that there is a trickle-down effect in the way the scheme impacts just about everyone directly and indirectly – and certainly feels the year-long FBI probe is just the tip of the iceberg for the change to come.

“[It’s] just rich people buying their way into something they don’t belong to,” Leno lamented. “I mean, how many black, brown, yellow, orange kids got screwed out of college because somebody knew somebody or someone’s grandfather went there before. I think it’s going to be a good thing – it’s going to break it all up and make it more egalitarian for everybody, so I think it’s a good thing.”

Lori Loughlin, 54, and her fashion designer husband Mossimo Giannulli were charged along with nearly 50 other people on Tuesday in a scheme in which wealthy parents allegedly bribed college coaches and other academic insiders to get their children into some of the most elite and prestigious schools in the country, federal prosecutors said.

The "Full House" actress and her spouse are accused of agreeing to pay $500,000 in bribes to have their two daughters designated as recruits for the USC crew team — though neither child had participated in the sport.

Also indicted by the FBI in the probe dubbed “Operation Varsity Blues” was “Desperate Housewives” actress Felicity Huffman, 56, who is accused of paying $15,000 – which she allegedly disguised as a charitable donation, so her daughter could take part in the college entrance-exam cheating scam.
