Actress Naya Rivera was arrested on domestic battery charges Saturday night after she allegedly assaulted her husband, Ryan Dorsey.
The Glee actress, 30, struck Dorsey, 34, several times on the head and lip while they were out on a walk with their 2-year-old son, Josey, according to Dorsey, who filed the claim against his wife.
Local news channel WSAZ said the actress was drunk when she attacked her husband, but investigators said it was unclear if she was under the influence during the altercation.
She was arrested in Kanawha County, West Virginia, at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday. The couple and their son were staying 20 minutes from Charleston with family at the time.
Dorsey recorded the assault on his phone and showed the video to police officers.
Sgt. Brian Humphreys said that the video of Rivera hitting Dorsey was the main factor in her arrest.
"I can just say that there was enough in the video to corroborate the statement of the video and that was why the decision was made that was made,” Humphreys said during a press conference Sunday, according to WSAZ. “There was some independent corroboration for what he said happened."
Rivera was charged with a misdemeanor battery charge and released Sunday and set her bail at $1,000, according to WSAZ. With this charge, she could face up to a year in jail and a maximum of a $500 fine.

The two had filed for divorce last November. After a year, Rivera called off the divorce and filled out the divorce dismissal paperwork to make it official. According to E! News, “They want to make it work for the sake of their son.”
Rivera and Dorsey dated before the actress got engaged to Big Sean. They began dating again right after Rivera broke off the engagement with the rapper. The couple was married three months later.
Big Sean, 29, has reportedly been throwing shade at his newly arrested ex already. He tweeted a video of a young girl saying “I told y’all, I told y’all, y’all thought I was playing but I told y’all.”
Rivera and Big Sean split in 2014 and he has seemingly been throwing shade at her ever since, especially with her recent arrest. He released songs that are supposedly about Rivera including “cold b*tch” and “IDFWU.”
The rapper told Hot 97 that his album “Dark Sky Paradise” was written during “one of the darkest times of my life” when he was going through a bunch of “craziness,” presumably talking about his recent split with Rivera. He also went on to say that he was happy he “dodged” a marriage with Rivera.

Naya Rivera refiled for divorce from husband Ryan Dorsey on Tuesday more than a week after she was arrested in West Virginia and charged with domestic battery, reports said.
Rivera cited irreconcilable differences in a court document obtained by TMZ. She also asked the court to prevent either party from receiving spousal support.
Rivera’s three-year marriage to Dorsey, 34, has hit rough patches over the years. The couple first began dating in 2010, but broke up when Rivera was filming for the popular TV show “Glee.” They got back together in 2014 and married three months after the 30-year-old actress broke off her engagement to rapper Big Sean.
Rivera previously filed for divorce in November 2016, but called it off in October.
In late November, Rivera was arrested when she allegedly struck Dorsey in the head and bottom lip while they were taking their 2-year-old son Josey on a walk, WSAZ reported.
Dorsey, 34, reportedly told police about the incident and showed them a cellphone video capturing the alleged assault.
