Dakota Skye, adult film star, found dead at age 27

Dakota Skye, an adult film star who appeared in more than 300 pornographic videos from 2013 to 2019, was found dead inside a Los Angeles motorhome last week, according to reports.
Skye, whose real name was Lauren Kaye Scott, was 27.
Skye’s husband discovered her body June 9, several reports said. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet determined a cause of death.
There was no immediate indication of foul play, although the coroner who performed the autopsy deferred reaching a conclusion pending “further investigation.”
It was unclear whether Skye had been living with her husband, who was not identified in reports. Authorities listed the woman as “homeless,” and relatives maintained the couple was estranged.
Scott was born April 17, 1994, in Tampa, Florida. By all accounts she grew up in an abusive family environment and struggled throughout adulthood with alcoholism and an addiction to fentanyl, reports said.
“Lauren was a product of a highly dysfunctional family involving drugs, alcohol, physical, emotional, verbal and sexual abuse,” said her aunt, Linda Arden, in an interview with The Sun.
More recently she was tormented by the loss of several close relatives, including two grandparents who reportedly died of COVID-19 within the last year, and her mother who died nearly two years ago, Arden said.
“She was stalked by demons like no one will ever understand unless you’ve lived it,” Arden said.
The blond sex worker stirred controversy last month after photographing herself topless in front of a George Floyd memorial in Santa Barbara, California, and then posting the racy snapshot on social media. After a backlash from her followers, she defended the stunt, saying “No human being should die getting arrested;” but at some point after the fallout she deleted her Instagram page.
She also performed under the name “Kota Sky” and was nominated for Best New Starlet in 2015 at the AVN Awards. She remained semi-active until last year, according to the Internet Adult Film Database.
She remains one of the most popular names searched on the adult entertainment website Pornhub.
Thousands of tributes to the late actor poured in on social media.
Those who knew her in the industry expressed shock and sadness.
“Dakota was a dear friend and part of our industry family, and we are saddened by her loss,” said porn industry insider James Bartholet in an interview with AVN Magazine. “She still had so much more to give to the world and to the industry, and I’m just very saddened and at a loss for words ... We wish all the best to her family, and we hope people respect their privacy and please remember her in a good way.”
Skye’s death comes more than three years after the December 2017 death of August Ames, another pornographic actor who died by suicide after friends said she was cyberbullied.
A GoFundMe page has raised more than $10,000 so far to cover funeral arrangements.

DAKOTA Skye was trolled by other porn stars in the weeks before her death after she posed topless at a George Floyd mural, her aunt has revealed.
Linda Arden told The Sun the adult film actress had been "bullied online" by other girls within the industry "trying to bring her down."

Linda, 55, said: "She did say she had been bullied online - mainly from others within the porn industry, girls trying to bring other girls down as they try to get ahead."
Skye - whose real name was Lauren Scott - was found dead aged just 27 in a trailer in LA on Wednesday. She died two years after her mom's tragic death.
Replies to her topless picture in front of Floyd's mural - posted to the site last month - show one Instagram user said: "Yikes, not a good look."
Other fans were also less than impressed with one writing: "This is some serious disrespectful bulls*** Lauren."

One fan wrote: "Wtf what does flashing have to do with George floyd's death?"
Another said: "Are you f***ing serious?" while one fan added: "She used to be cute."
Scott had written: "Happy #GeorgeFloyd day in #santabarbara <3 #dakotaskye equality&fair treatment for all. Dope mural."
Floyd died after being handcuffed and pinned to the ground by a police officer's knee in Minneapolis in May last year.
Skye replied: "I’m celebrating BAD cops being checked with abusing there authority against human beings .. hello.
"No human being should die getting arrested."

Scott's aunt Linda said the porn star was found "with nothing".
She added: "She could make thousands in one week and she was found with nothing.
"She would carry pictures of her family everywhere and she didn't even have those.
"All she had was a plastic bag with some clothes.
"It's sad, someone who could of had it all was found displaced and homeless with all her belongings in a clear zippered bag from a comforter package."
A benefit is being held in LA on Wednesday for Lauren with porn industry stars expected to attend. A GoFundMe to help establish a foundation in her name had raised more than $10,000 as of Monday afternoon.

Arden told The Sun how Skye had battled demons all of her life.
She said: "Her real life story and how she came to be in that industry, has truly been a tragedy.
"She died almost exactly two years after her mother, my baby sister's, death which was caused by addiction and alcoholism."
In 2017 Skye was arrested after allegedly smacking her then-boyfriend Robert Anderson in the face after sex.
Her aunt, 55, added: "Lauren was a product of a highly dysfunctional family involving drugs, alcohol, physical, emotional, verbal, and sexual abuse."
Linda said: "She was stalked by demons like no one will ever understand unless you've lived it.
"I loved her unconditionally and I just wanted happiness for her.
"She no longer has to walk through this world in pain in her own prison and that gives me comfort to know she no longer has to fight the voices and images that haunted her."
A cause of death has not been confirmed but Arden said her niece was an alcoholic and had battled an addiction with fentanyl.
Two of her grandparents had also died of COVID-19 within the last year and Arden revealed Scott was estranged from her husband "who loved her dearly".
It is not clear who Lauren had been with in the hours before her death. The Sun has contacted LA police for comment.
Her aunt added: "We still do not know whose trailer she was found in.
"She was the sweetest girl. She lived with me when she was a baby. She loved her family. All of her money she gave back to help her mom and brothers.
"She was an addict and an alcoholic. But really all she was doing was searching for love, someone to care about her.
"I was so scared about her. She was in so much pain. I thought she was going to make it. She had been clean for weeks."
Following her death Skye's friend James Bartholet wrote on Twitter: "Dakota was a dear friend and part of our industry family, and we are saddened by her loss.
"She still had so much more to give to the world and to the industry, and I'm just very saddened and at a loss for words."
