I dont yet have a gel. My mattress at home is a 10" thick firm memory foam. Had it for 15 years or so. I have scoliosis, and before I bought the memory foam mattress, I'd wake up often almost unable to move due to back pain. Not a lick of problems (at home) since. My work bed has a typical pillow top firm mattress, and I have a memory foam topper on it. The work bed was great when new, but the mattress is a cheap one and worn out already. The topper is really too soft for me, and I wouldn't buy another one. I'm considering buying an automatic air mattress for work bed.
Not personally no DGX but my brother does and absolutely loves it. He recently bought a memory foam with a gel topper that's supposed to help with the heat as traditional memory foam can apparently get quite warm.

Personally my wife and I did it and weren't entirely sure of the answers as we both got quite different mattress recommendations, so we're still shopping around. Our mattress is quite old now though so if others have recommendations I'll be keen to hear.
I've had a memory foam (no gel) mattress topper for a few years now, absolutely love it! Pretty cheap too, far cheaper than buying a new mattress anyway :)
We have one also, got it from Costco. We definitely like it.
Must be nice to be able to have a fancy bed to sleep on, sounds liek the 1% up in here. I sleep on a pile of sharp rocks because I can't even afford the dull rocks :meh:
