Alex Faust:
31-year-old Alex Faust is now the leading candidate to replace Alex Trebek. Many know him primarily as a sports commentator for the Los Angeles Kings. Back in 2018, Trebek named Faust as a possible candidate to take over hosting duties of the show.
It’s unclear if Faust would be willing to become the new Jeopardy host. He’s certainly a good option and has years of experience speaking on television. With Trebek’s endorsement, it’s not a surprise to see him listed as the betting favorite.
George Stephanopoulos:
Another popular television personality is interested in taking over as host of Jeopardy. George Stephanopoulos has been a political analyst for years. Representatives of the ABC host claim he would make an excellent addition to the show. Many online sports betting sites now list him as a betting favorite.

CNN’s Anderson Cooper is a longtime fan of Jeopardy. Many choosing to bet on Alex Trebek’s replacement host feel that he’ll end up being chosen. Cooper is an extremely well-known political analyst and has even competed in the show in the past.
Accepting this role would likely require Anderson to give up his job at CNN. Whether or not that’s a real possibility is up for debate. The oddsmakers seem to feel it’s possible and he’s a +500 underdog to become the show’s new host.

Former Jeopardy champion Buzzy Cohen is also rumored as a possible candidate to begin hosting the show. Not long after news broke of Trebek’s passing, Cohen recalled how the show helped him get over depression. He’s a fan-favorite and would likely make a smooth transition into hosting duties.
Unlike some of the other names on this list, however, Cohen doesn’t have years of experience as a television host or commentator. His past experiences on the show have earned him a spot here. Like Anderson Cooper, Cohen holds odds of +500 to follow in Trebek’s footsteps.
Dan Patrick:
Another famous sports broadcaster makes the list! Dan Patrick might not seem like the most-likely candidate here. He has a massive fan base, though, and could be a good option for anyone that wants to bet on Alex Trebek’s replacement host.
There doesn’t appear to be much buzz around Patrick becoming the new Jeopardy host. His name seems to have appeared simply because he’s a respected broadcaster. The odds of +700 reflect how unlikely this one is.
Will Ferrell:

As we mentioned earlier, a Jeopardy host needs to be regarded as a real intellectual. Ferell might not fit that bill, yet he’s a household name and is great in front of the camera. He’s a +1000 underdog in this one. This is entertainment betting at its best!
Betty White:
Last on this list is Betty White, a beloved comedian and actress. White and Trebek were good friends, and Alex even listed her as a possible candidate to take over hosting duties. White is now 98 years old and it would seem highly unlikely for her to become the show’s next host.
Despite her old age, Betty still seems sharp as ever. Perhaps she would be willing to take over her friend’s role. It’s certainly a longshot at +2000. A winning bet here could be hugely profitable, though.
