The Handmaid's Tale
Killing Eve
The Terror
All good for different reasons.
The Terror novel is excellent as well. Based on the brutal true story of two ships trying to find the Northwest Passage.
Westworld
If you haven't started watching this yet, I would highly recommend it.
Killjoys - current show I'm bingeing right now on SyFy
Wynonna Earp - campy in the vein of the old Buffy the Vampire Slayer series
Nightflyers - limited 1 season show, an adaptation of a George RR Martin novella....it was full of promise and disappointment :|
Mr. Robot
Can't say enough good things about this series. It gets better every season.
Netflix:
Sabrina
New Black Mirror (Its interactive)
Ash VS Evil Dead
Two series that were highly regarded that I found good, but not great.
Ozark
Stranger Things
Jack Ryan - similar to Homeland and better than Homeland has been recently
Counterpart
Highly recommend this show. Mild mannered J.K. Simmons discovers there's an alternate dimension that people visit through a Checkpoint Charlie-like tunnel, and there's a cold war between both sides. Most people have doppelgangers and his is a super brutal, intelligent spy.
Just for the premise I can't recommend this one enough. Not so much science fiction as political intrigue and good drama
The wife is the TV person. She started "Killing Eve" yesterday and said it's great.
Check out The Americans if you haven't seen it RBP. Set in the early 80's, two Russian spies do the long con and pose as a married couple, even having two children.
Old school dead drops and spycraft, while ratcheting the tension to 11 as the seasons progress. Both leads are phenomenal.
