honest opinion - i left the first time thinking it was hard to decide if i liked it or not. i saw it a second time and confirmed that i was disappointed. No spoilers. :2cents:
There were some things I liked but there were a lot of things I didn't. I had to think about it for a few hours and weigh the pros and cons before I admitted to myself how unhappy I was with it as a whole.
bingo, it took me a second time seeing it to come to that same conclusion
Thanks guys
I listen to a podcast where they have done a light side (people who liked it) review and a dark side (people who hated it) review. Same guy appears on both podcasts and they're filled with spoilers so I can't get a sense on what is what ffs
I'll probably go see this in a theater as I try do that with Star Wars and Lord of the Rings movies as a treat to myself.
the visuals alone are worth seeing it in the theater i think
Watching I, Tonya.
Judging by the first ten minutes I'm going to go ahead and recommend it right now
I, Tonya was hilarious in parts...serious in others. Almost made me feel sorry for her :-k
Good show and Margot was great
Christmas Day...
On the Waterfront. Classic and an ATF.
Fences. Love August Wilson (playwright), Denzel and Viola are amazing. But a tough story and an unlikable lead character.
Life of Brian. What's to say. Classic Python satire.
Detroit. Could have been called Algiers, since the story was primarily about the police murders at the Algiers Hotel in the 1967 riots. I was expecting more of a biopic of the times and circumstances resulting in the rioting, not a drawn out docudrama about one, albeit huge, event. Lukewarm.
Room. Very good movie, very tough subject. I enjoyed it.
Saw STAR WARS.
I thought there were a lot of flaws. IT just didn't quite feel like an integrated whole....Characters were built up and disappeared all of a sudden, and other appeared unexplained. Gaps in the story line. No real satisfaction to any aspect. The same repeated scene of the Rebel ships put putting away while their asses get bombed (that was the story line right there ) A bit too much touchy-feely emotional pandering.
Still, I enjoyed the movie all up. I thought the most interesting character was Luke Skywalker, great job by Mark Hamil conveying the same annoying insecure, idealistic ( yet compelling) kid who keeps fcking up. Second favourite character was the lil droid :) Rest were all fine, just not great. 7/10
