Gotta respect animals in their habitat. Bison are wild animals, not cows and I don't have much sympathy here.
I was in Jasper Alberta and a Japanese tour group were crowded around a full grown Elk bull, full rack of antlers. snorting his indignation at them. I take out my 200mm and stay as far back as I can to get a picture. Meanwhile they are circling the thing, getting closer and closer.
I yell at them "Get back away from him!" Their guide (he was wearing a badge) walks up to me and says "he can't run very fast - it's OK". I said back to him "This isn't Bambi. Can your group run at about 40mph? That's what he can do at his best." His eyes went , said something in Japanese to the group and they all backed off.
:banghead:
You heard my story when I worked in Banff? An elk wondered into our resort area and I walked up to it holding two sticks above my head like antlers, thinking it would run off scared.
People are laughing at my elk imitation as I get closer...and it just looks down at me as if to say - You think you're funny?
I swear its shoulders were about 6 feet high and up close they are imposing animals.
Not that I'm trying to start a pissing contest, but our Tassie Devils can sprint for short bursts at 50mph, and leap directly onto testicles #truth

Thanks, but even though the devil may be mean and bitey, at least I have a chance to punt him. I'll take my chances with him over a 2,000 lb bison charging me at 40 mph.
