The wokeness and pollicization of the US teams/athletes. It's supposed to be a matter of pride representing your country in the Olympics, but at least here in the States, that's not the case anymore. It's all about promoting your agenda and shitting on the country giving you the privilege and opportunity to play.
I have been turning on the TV and watching some of the actual sporting events in the evening.. Other than that I don't hang around for the politics..
Canada beat Japan in the 7's! Ouch for Japan getting knocked out early in their own Olympics but great to see for Canada. Such a great sport, very accessible for someone like me who doesn't normally follow rugby either. Much simpler game to follow than regular rugby.
I'm waiting for the wrestling to start. Supposedly on August 1st. We usually don't have a great showing compared to the rest of the world, and the coverage is lackluster at best, but it's still fun to watch when I can catch it. I watch NCAA dual meets and tournaments as well.
The media in its many forms these days does very little to enhance anything positive.
Currently watching canoe slalom, what a fun looking sport
Ariarne Titmus joins swimming royalty with 200m-400m Olympic double
