Porn star who felt 'depressed all the time' quits industry to join the Marines

A porn star is quitting the industry in the hope of joining the Marines.
At just 18-years-old, Vienna Rose left her small town in Oklahoma to pursue a career in porn.
She’d never been on a plane before, but took the leap to chase the Hollywood dream.
While the job allowed the teen to rake in £80,000 a year, the industry wasn’t as glamorous as she’d expected.
Not only is it difficult for erotic stars to find work, they can also find themselves under the “control” of exploitative agents.
The 20-year-old says she was ordered into performing sex acts and berated with comments about her appearance.

Vienna knew it was time to leave the industry when she started feeling “depressed all the time”, The Daily Beast reports.
She also started battling a “horrible eating disorder and body dysmorphia” due to her body being under scrutiny constantly.
Now, the she hopes to follow in her military brother’s footsteps by joining the Marines.
The adult star has trained hard to get herself in shape – and has had a consultation to remove the tattoo on the back of her neck that breaks regulations.
She shared her plans on Twitter, writing: “It’s time for Vienna Rose to die. I’m done with porn.”

Vienna hopes opening up about her story will shed light on downsides of the industry.
She told The Daily Beast: “I’d been wanting to say my piece for a while and didn’t know how to go about it.
“I think it’s very dangerous to put this narrative out there to women, young women especially, that sex work is this huge money-making thing.
“I feel like we feed that to women, that you’ll come in here and start making lots of money, but because porn is so oversaturated that is genuinely not the case anymore.”
