Just watched Episode 1-2 this week, going to finish it up this weekend. It's incredible, extremely tense, well acted, my only complaint is that there are only three episodes! I could watch hours and hours of this. I read a little about how accurate the show was, and historians are mostly praising it. There are some dramatizations like how fast people showed signs of radiation poisoning, and how dangerous the risk of the steam explosion from the full tanks was, but mostly it sounds like the show's producers did a great job staying true to history.
I knew the Soviets were in denial and slow to evacuate nearby citizens, but my wife and I were almost yelling at the TV, the actions of the Party members were so frustrating and political :lol:
I'm going to have to order a book or two on the subject now, I just want to know more.
