The real icing on the cake was when I no longer had insurance through work, it cost me $850.00 as a fine for not picking up their $2500.00 per month marketplace crap.

When Obamacare passed, our group policy at work went up by 30% at renewal time. And every year after that, it kept going up by double digits, usually in the range of 25% give or take. Miraculously, in 2016 when Trump was elected, it was the first time in 5 or 6 years that the premiums didn't go up. It didn't go down, but at least it stayed flat. And it stayed that way through the entire 4 years of Trump's term. Can't wait to see what the renewal rates will look like next year.

The Covid took him down. Healthcare had nothing to do with it. The majority of sane Americans don't want the government involved in what should be handled by the free market. Obamacare was (and will be again if and when Biden takes over) a disaster. Personally, I (and many others) don't give a shit about the wall as long as INS is allowed to do their job without local interference.

Healthcare as a government provided service is alive and working well in many countries. Without it far too many people would incapacitated both physically and financially.

That's nice for other countries. We're not other countries. What we had before may not have been ideal, but it worked for the vast majority of Americans. The Obamacare crap made everything worse for a vast majority of Americans, 2 of which piped up here. It wasn't designed to help people, it was designed to make insurance companies money and to take away the choice from the American citizen. It was a big steaming pile of shit.

But hey, it was such amazing legislation. The only way that congressional members could bask in it's glory was to do as Herr Nancy said and 'pass it to find out what's in it' (which should NEVER happen in the USA).
