I've tried a couple times to illustrate the ways this is not a left right divide and that republicans have been and are guilty also, despite using the "left" meme for the totalitarians. evidence chains are a real thing, and it basically seems to me that instead of actually looking into any of this stuff, you just say I have no idea where to start and thus never do, and reality stays obscured by this.

you can start with the shit tons of evidence that the Obama admin unlawfully used the intelligence agencies to spy on and concoct fabricated evidence with which to try and thwart the will of the american people - its all coverup from there. once you know for a fact that the obama admin did this, and that a whole lot of other things were done in attempts to cover things up, only then will things start making sense.

Former Washington Post reporter-turned-columnist Karen Tumulty came under fire Sunday for disclosing her son's employment with the Biden campaign in a column oozing with praise for the presumptive 2020 Democratic nominee's reelection bid.

The Sunday column headlined “The woman who transformed Joe Biden’s campaign," gushes over Biden's campaign manager Jennifer O’Malley Dillon, and the "harmony" with which she was able to unite "the Democratic National Committee and the party’s liberal allies."

At one point in the column, Tumulty credits O’Malley Dillon for "transforming what had been an underfinanced, undisciplined and dysfunctional Democratic primary operation into a general-election machine capable of carrying Biden through to the November election," parenthetically adding "(Disclosure: My adult son works for the Biden campaign)."

Many rushed to Twitter to note the apparent conflict of interest -- among them Politico reporter Daniel Lippman -- who elicited a "fuller disclosure" from Tumulty in response.

"Fuller disclosure: My adult son has been working for the Biden campaign for a week as a research assistant. I have been covering politics for 40 years. Should I give up covering politics? Or tell my adult son not to pursue a career he wants?" Tumulty wrote. "Would love advice from other parents."

Tumulty also urged Lippman to read her "columns about the Biden campaign for the past year, and he will see that it is totally consistent. In the criticism and the praise," she wrote.

One Twitter user warned Tumulty to " avoid inside info" urging her to "Task another trusted relative with the mom advice role, if that is even a factor."

"Can’t imagine a clearer, easier call than saying, 'nope, I’m not gonna write about this," another wrote.

Former Politico reporter Meredith Shiner came to Tumulty's defense, tweeting, "honestly a research assistant is not an important or powerful enough position to give any sort of access or favor. Also if it’s oppo research, we all see it said out loud every day," she wrote. "And if it’s policy research, we all see what’s failing. Call us back when he’s running a campaign."

Fox News anchor Chris Wallace unloaded on presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden late last week for continuing to avoid media interviews as he runs a “basement strategy” campaign.

Wallace made the remarks during a Fox News Radio interview in response to the Biden campaign not putting anyone from the campaign on television during today’s Sunday morning news shows.

“So, I’ve been doing Sunday shows with conventions – I started on Meet the Press in 1988. I’ve been doing it on and off, for what? What is that? Thirty two years. And it always happens that the Sunday before the convention, the campaign puts out top officials to preview the convention and to say this is what we’re gonna try to get accomplished,” Wallace said. “So, you know, we’ve [been] counting all week on, you know, having a top official from the Biden campaign, the campaign manager, the top pollster, the chief strategist, to talk about what they’re going to talk about during this next week. They are not putting anybody out.”

“And at first I thought, well, maybe it’s because it’s Fox News and they’re boycotting us,” Wallace continued. “No, they’re not putting anybody out on any of the Sunday shows … I don’t understand what’s going on here. This is the damnedest thing I’ve ever seen that you would, you know, you’re basically giving a campaign – and as I say, it’s a traditional thing. We’re gonna do it for the Republicans a week from Sunday. What are you trying to accomplish this week? And they, the Biden campaign isn’t putting anybody out.”

“And this just is of a piece with the vice president not doing really any serious interviews, not answering any questions since the rollout,” Wallace continued. “I don’t, you know, you can try, and I understand [it] has worked pretty well, and he continues to lead with what I’ll call the basement strategy. I don’t think you can hide from now till Election Day. I just I just don’t think it’s possible.”

Biden has also refused to answer questions from reporters the few times that he has given press conferences where teleprompters are present.

Biden’s refusal to take questions comes as he has faced mounting questions about his fitness for office, including questions about his cognitive abilities. Biden’s wife, Jill Biden, recently had to go on Fox News to defend her husband from the criticisms. It’s worth noting that numerous Democrats, progressives, and left-wing publications have also questioned Biden’s mental fitness for office. Biden, who said a couple of months ago that he was “constantly tested” for cognitive decline, walked those claims back last week, denying that he had been tested for cognitive decline and saying, “Why the hell would I take a test?”

Fox News anchor Bret Baier said this week on Twitter that his news program asks Biden every week to come on the program to answer questions.

Even CNN is beginning to acknowledge that this is an issue for the Biden campaign as left-wing commentator Brian Stelter said: “I think this is increasingly becoming an issue among the press corps and among political insiders.”

Recently, Weissmann wrote an extraordinary and disturbing New York Times op-ed (with former Defense Department special counsel Ryan Goodman). In the column, he appeared to call on Justice Department lawyers to undermine the Durham investigation as well as the investigation by U.S. Attorney John Bash’s investigation into the “unmasking” requests by Obama administration officials. They wrote “Justice Department employees in meeting their ethical and legal obligations, should be well advised not to participate in any such effort.”

Consider that line for a moment...

Weissmann is openly calling on attorneys to refuse to help on investigations that could raise questions about his own decisions. Durham is looking at a pattern errors, false statements, bias, and now criminal conduct in the Russian investigation. There is obviously overlap with the Mueller investigation which discussed many of the same underlying documents and relied on work by some of the same individuals. The failure to address misconduct, bias, or criminal conduct by such individuals would be embarrassing to both Weissmann and Mueller. Despite that obvious conflict of interest, Weissmann is calling on attorneys to stand down.

It is the same troubling position that was once taken by Sally Yates, who told an entire federal agency not to assist the President in his travel ban.

I've been avoiding trying to seriously tackle you with what you say with facts because I don't believe it's to do with facts. We pick the guy that we like and support them.

Trump to me looks really red-faced overweight unhealthy. He's kind of restless and unpleasant I don't like him so I'm not really interested in looking for needle in the haystack evidence about what a great guy he is. I think the whole birther thing with Obama was disgusting and his jump from one thing to another, in my opinion, in the worst instances is to simply rile up the stupidest and most bigoted of his supporters as distraction when he gets into trouble. I think the most notables thing about these conspiracy theories is their perfect timing. I'm not going to directly talk about this, but yeah I'm happy with the suggestions that there are politically motivated undercurrents. Trump's a potentially dangerous man - and in certain contexts patently unfit to be president. (I don't personally completely condemn him though. He's put on a few good fights).

However, they are looking for legal ways to get rid of him. And they've come pretty close. He makes mistakes, he's done crooked things, a lot of his friends are crooked and have gone down in these investigations legitimately. I actually think that they found enough evidence to warrant getting rid of him, but they don't want to rock the boat. They'll wait until November.
