In an endorsement published this week, a Washington state newspaper said it agrees with President Trump’s critics that the commander-in-chief has numerous faults – but that doesn’t mean Trump doesn’t deserve a second term.
“We recommend voting for him anyway,” the Spokesman-Review of Spokane wrote Sunday about the president, “because the policies that Joe Biden and his progressive supporters would impose on the nation would be worse.”
The editorial described the 2020 presidential election as a choice between “a wretched human being [Trump] whose policies and instincts for helping America thrive are generally correct,” and a “doddering, doting uncle [Biden] who would hand out gifts the nation can’t afford in order to win people’s love.”
“Given that choice,” the endorsement, written by publisher William Stacy Cowles, concluded, “economic policy and principle should prevail. Vote for Donald Trump.”
In making his argument, Cowles listed what he called “Trump’s offenses.”
“He panders to racists and prevents sensible immigration reform in a nation built on immigration labor and intellect,” he wrote. “He tweets conspiracy theories. He’s cavalier about COVID-19 and had led poorly through the pandemic. He seeks to dismantle the Affordable Care Act without proposing a replacement. He denies climate change.”
But Cowles also argued that the policies of Biden, should he win the presidency, “would strike at the economic well-being of the country.”
Biden “favors massive growth in government and a historic increase in federal spending through green initiatives, free health services, free education and other ideas grounded in reliance on the state as savior rather than creating an environment in which individual liberty and hard work can thrive,” Cowles wrote.
“Public employee unions would hold outsized power and demand greater spending,” he continued.
“To afford it all,” he added, “Biden and a Democrat-controlled Congress would have to impose unprecedented tax increases or accept catastrophic deficit spending.
“Taxes and spending likely would increase under Trump, too, but the nation stands a better chance of moderation and reform with him in the White House than it does with Biden pushed left by progressives intent on reshaping America to fit their fantastical vision.”
The Spokane paper’s endorsement of Trump appeared the same day that the conservative New Hampshire Union Leader broke a century-long tradition by endorsing a Democrat for the White House.
“President Trump is not always 100 percent wrong, but he is 100 percent wrong for America,” the Union Leader wrote.
Biden, meanwhile, may not be the president we want,” the newspaper claimed, “but in 2020 he is the president we desperately need.”

Would you send $500 in cash through the mail?
If not, maybe you won’t want to send your ballot, either. But millions of Americans have already voted by mail in the 2020 presidential election: 48,370,696 to be exact, according to Elect Project at the time of publishing.
With the COVID-19 pandemic still running rampant, many Americans have decided that posting their ballots through the United States Postal Service (USPS) is the safest way to go.
But just how safe is your ballot in the mail?
Fox News decided to test out the USPS.
“As part of a special investigation, senior correspondent Eric Shawn, the I-Unit and others sent 500 envelopes from more than 50 locations throughout the country to test how quickly they traveled between addresses, and to a single destination in New York,” Fox reported. “A little more than two percent failed to reach their destinations, including nine envelopes that have not been delivered more than a month later.”
Fox posted a total of 500 identical envelopes, 100 in each of the New York City, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, and Dallas metropolitan areas. Eleven never reached their addressed destinations — two were returned to sender and the other nine yet to arrive.
While that’s just 11 out of 500 — or 2.2% — that percentage extrapolated to the current number of mail-in ballots — 48,370,696 — would be a whopping 1,064,155 votes.
Fox’s test included some other interesting information, including how long the envelopes took to arrive.
In New York, envelopes were mailed from locations within almost 70 miles of the destination. Delivery times there ranged from two to five days, and in many cases it was the envelopes traveling the shortest distances that took the longest amount of time to travel.
Some of the mail sent from one New York borough to another took just as long or longer to arrive than the envelopes sent to New York from Los Angeles. The envelopes sent to New York from California ironically traveled the greatest cross-country distance of all of the test ballots, but arrived in the least amount of time of any in that same group.
Fox also talked to a USPS spokesman, who said that the postal service “has allocated additional resources, including, but not limited to, expanded processing procedures, extra transportation, extra delivery and collection trips, and overtime, to ensure that Election Mail reaches its intended destination in a timely manner.”
The spokesperson also said “the use of extraordinary measures beyond the normal course of operations is authorized and expected to be executed by local management between Oct. 26 and Nov. 24 to accelerate the delivery of ballots, when the Postal Service is able to identify the mailpiece as a ballot.”
Those “extraordinary measures” include expedited handling, extra deliveries and special pickups, “which have been used in past elections, to connect blank ballots entered by election officials to voters, or completed ballots returned by voters entered close to or on Election Day to their intended destination,” Fox wrote.

James O’Keefe strikes again!
Project Veritas on Tuesday released a bombshell undercover video of a Texas “Republican” consultant violating both Texas and federal laws.
Raquel Rodriguez, a consultant for GOP House candidate Mauro Garza was caught on camera coercing and bribing voters into voting Democrat.
“Now, you know on here you chose a Republican, not a Democrat, right?” Raquel Rodriguez tells a voter.
The voter responds, “Can I do that?”
Rodriguez replies, “You can do, you can vote for whoever you want. But our conversation that we had, you said you were voting for Hegar because you were going straight Democrat.”
Rodriguez is seen on camera taking the ballot from the voter and helping her fill it out.
Later on, Rodriguez admits that what she is doing is illegal and brags about giving the elderly voter a pretty shawl as a gift for her Democrat vote!
“That’s illegal. I could go to jail,” Rodriguez tells a Project Veritas undercover journalist. “If I go to prison, I do not look cute in stripes…I will hate you forever.”
The Project Veritas journalist actually got Rodriguez to admit that President Trump was right when he said there is massive voter fraud.
