    You can serve two terms or 10 years. For example, if you are the VP and the president dies or resigns or is removed from office with 2 years or less left on his term and the VP becomes president, then he can run up to 2 more times (a total of 10 years). But if the president had more than 2 years left on his term and the VP becomes president, then he can only run 1 time for a total of 7 years because if he ran again after that and won, he would be in office for 11 years, which is over the 10 year limit.
