Thinking Olivia Munn cancels ‘Today’ interview to avoid questions on scandals

By Oli Coleman - Page Six

Olivia Munn pulled out of an interview with the “Today” show at the last minute because she didn’t want to face awkward questions about any of a number of scandals, Page Six has learned.

It’s not clear exactly what topic the actress was so keen to avoid.

But she’s recently made headlines for different reasons.

Her dog-walking app, Wag, has been responsible for a number of missing and dead dogs.

She wrote a much-mocked essay “naming and shaming” fashion bloggers, and she got a lot of attention last week after she said in an interview that she broke out in hives after accusing Brett Ratner of sexual misconduct.

Sources tell Page Six that Munn was booked on the NBC show last week after another guest dropped out, but after producers said they couldn’t promise she wouldn’t be quizzed about any thorny issues during her interview, she pulled the plug.

In June, Munn — who is an investor and spokesperson for the Wag app — got personally involved in a search for a dog that was stolen by one of the app’s walkers (it was later found), and on Monday a lawsuit claimed a dog had been killed while in the care of a Wag walker, who allegedly tried to cover up the accident that killed it.

Meanwhile, Munn also caused a stir in April when she penned an excoriating essay about the fashion blog Go Fug Yourself, calling the site “hypocritical” and sexist for criticizing her fashion choices.

The rant was variously called “bizarre,” “problematic” and “wrong” by the fashion press, and the Go Fug Yourself writers received overwhelming support online. (Page Six added our two cents to the debate by declining to mention either her outfit at a recent premiere or the name of the show she was promoting.)

Then in the days before her scheduled “Today” appearance, Munn garnered widespread attention for an interview in Women’s Health in which she said she suffered an “all-over body rash,” after accusing Ratner of misconduct in 2017.

    Ratner has denied her allegations.

Reps for Munn and the “Today” show declined to comment.

Best thing you can do is never speak to the media.
