Warning Area 51: Threat to life for alien hunters wanting to storm base- Army issues stern warning

By Sean Martin - The Express

THE US Military has issued a strong warning in response to those planning on “storming” Area 51 - the top secret military base - in search of aliens.

A staggering ONE MILLION people have now joined a Facebook group encouraging people to descend on Area 51 to uncover any potential alien secrets. Area 51 has long been thought of by conspiracy theorists as a place where the US government is hiding intel on alien activity, and it all began when an apparent weather balloon crashed into the nearby town of Roswell in 1947. Many believed the weather balloon – the official stance by US authorities – was actually an extraterrestrial UFO, and the US government has been keeping alien secrets ever since.

Now however, the public is demanding answers and one million people and counting have signed up to a Facebook event called “Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All of Us”.

The sheer amount of people who have signed up to the event has caused the US army some concern, forcing them to issue a statement.

The base is heavily guarded, and is surrounded by signs which state ‘Use of Deadly Force is AUTHORIZED’.

Air Force spokesperson Laura McAndrews warned people to stay away in a strongly worded statement.

Ms Andrews said: “Area 51 is an open training range for the US Air Force, and we would discourage anyone from trying to come into the area where we train American armed forces.

“The US Air Force always stands ready to protect America and its assets”.

According to a description of the Facebook group, attendees will meet nearby and storm the top secret base on September 20.

The description reads: “We will all meet up at the Area 51 Alien Center tourist attraction and coordinate our entry. If we naruto run, we can move faster than their bullets. Let’s see them aliens.”

Naruto is a reference to a popular Japanese anime character

While the event is obviously tongue-in-cheek, having been created by a group called ‘Sh**posting cause im in shambles’, the US army is taking the event seriously.

Some attendees have also failed to get the joke, warning people that they will be killed.

One Facebook user commented: “Apparently none of ya’ll understand military weapons. Also what makes you think there isn’t a contingency plan for things like this already in place?

“I know this is a joke but if you do actually pull this stunt you are actually either going to be responsible at best for the largest mass incarceration in history and at worst the largest suicide run.”

Another added: "Can someone go Facebook live so when y'all end up in jail or shot, we can see why no one has ever tried this."

Area 51 has been used by American aviation authorities since 1955 and is closed off to those without top-level security clearance.

However, the US Government did not even admit the base existed until 2013, in a series of documents released as part of a Freedom of Information request, and it is heavily protected by armed guards.

The government needs to take a hard line stance on this. What happens if they are successful and decide their next target is like Andrew air force base or something?

I've been following this, its insane. Last I saw something like 1.5 million people had RSVPed to the event. If this actually happens people I think people are going to die. The military will have to respond and make an example.

Umm... yeah they will. I live 5 minutes away from a Naval base. It happens every several years around here, so I know the drill. Anti-nuclear treehuggers try to get on the base to protest every once in a while. If anyone tries to enter a US military installation without credentials or otherwise explicit written permission, and they can't be arrested and detained immediately without incident, then they're gonna get fucked up bad.

"Area 51" is actually a remote detachment of Edwards Air Force Base tasked with the creation and testing of military weapons technology. All parts of it require a top secret security clearance to access. And even if you have top secret security clearance, it's only on a particular part of a project. You can work on an aspect of building a project, but you can't see other work, nor can you see a demonstration. Or you can see a demonstration, but you can't see any of the work that goes on behind the scenes to get that project running. You can't roam freely on the base. It's all to prevent espionage.

It's sad. People can rally together and gain a million participants...to see if aliens are real.

Why not do that to take a stand against real issues?

Update Area 51 warning: Man shot dead for trying to enter military base

By Sean Martin - The Express

A MAN was shot dead at Area 51 in January after he attempting to enter the top secret military base – something which should come as a huge warning as hundreds prepare to “storm” the base.

More than one million people have now signed up to a Facebook group encouraging people to descend on Area 51 in Nevada to uncover any potential alien secrets. The Facebook group in question is called “Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All of Us”, which states: “We will all meet up at the Area 51 Alien Center tourist attraction and coordinate our entry. If we naruto run, we can move faster than their bullets. Let’s see them aliens.” The event is set to take place on September 20, but if previous attempts are anything to go by, the public should steer well clear of the military base.

On January 28, an unnamed man drove through a security checkpoint at Mercury, some 70 miles north of Las Vegas, as he attempted to get into Area 51.

A car chase quickly ensued for eight miles, when the suspect exited his car and approached Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) officers with a “cylindrical object” in hand, according to an NNSS statement.

The man failed to adhere to officers’ requests to stop, and was promptly shot dead at the scene.

The incident should be a stark warning to those planning on rushing Area 51, with US Air Force personnel warning that necessary force will be taken.

Air Force spokeswoman Laura McAndrews said: “Area 51 is an open training range for the US Air Force, and we would discourage anyone from trying to come into the area where we train American armed forces.

“The US Air Force always stands ready to protect America and its assets”.

However, organisers of the page have insisted the event is a joke, and have no plans on storming Area 51.

Facebook user Jackson Barnes wrote in the discussion page: “Hello US government, this is a joke, and I do not actually intend to go ahead with this plan.

“I just thought it would be funny and get me some thumbsy uppies on the Internet. I’m not responsible if people decide to actually storm area 51.”

Area 51 has been used by American aviation authorities since 1955 and is closed off to those without top-level security clearance.

However, the US government did not even admit the base existed until 2013, in a series of documents released as part of a Freedom of Information request, and it is heavily protected by armed guards.

I wonder what the "cylindrical object" was. A thermos?
