Her healthy food initiative took away choice from the kids, and increased costs. And before you say "subsidies", those subsidies only allowed .06 per lunch. That's not a whole hell of a lot compared to the actual cost to provide the healthier lunches. Face it, in the US it costs that much more to eat like a health nazi. And regardless if it's better for them, it doesn't taste as good (it doesn't do any good to serve healthier lunches if they're just winding up in the trash can), and again, the choice was taken away. That's really the biggest issue: the choice.

I don't know the detail of the subsidies. I appreciate the truth of what you say. Kids don't like eating healthy stuff (watched 4 years of meal-time tantrums with my last partner). And it definitely costs more.
