Busted High school teacher had inappropriate relationship with student

By Amanda Woods - New York Post

A Texas high school teacher and dance coach turned herself in to cops for having an inappropriate relationship with a female student, according to authorities.

Tayler Seymour, 26, who taught at Lockhart High School, admitted to police that she and the student had been involved in the illicit relationship since last summer, authorities said in a statement Tuesday.

Seymour, of Kyle, Texas, was charged with a second-degree felony for an improper relationship between an educator and student, police said.

There is no indication that any other students were involved, according to authorities.

Seymour, who had worked with the Lockhart Independent School District since March 2016, was placed on administrative leave, the district said in a statement, also released Tuesday.

“The trust between a teacher and student is sacred, and we do not and will not tolerate any violation of that trust,” superintendent Mark Estrada said in a letter to parents. “The safety of our students is our number one priority, and we will continue to cooperate fully with law enforcement during this ongoing investigation.”

“She will not return to this district,” Estrada added, noting that the complaint against Seymour was also reported to Child Protective Services.

Seymour will be booked into Caldwell County Jail, and bond is set at $50,000, police said.
