    I really loved the 2004 take on BSG because of the opening plot where ***SPOILER** the Cylons bombed the shit out of every human planet and just left the remaining humans in a fleet of ships hanging in space. I thought it really gave the viewer a sense of how created robots developed and then turned on the humans, leaving them no where to go after a coordinated attack.

    The original Battlestar and Buck Rogers were two of my favorites as a kid.
