KELSEY CHAPSTICK - Revolver
Eddie Van Halen made headlines recently when it was revealed that he's been receiving treatment for throat cancer in Germany for the past several years. Yet, despite the health issues, the Van Halen guitarist has continued to get out there and do things like attending a Tool concert with his son Wolf on October 22nd in L.A.
The elder Van Halen's attendance was also notable due to a funny incident documented by Wolf in which a young Tool fan asked the revered guitar hero to take a picture of him standing in front of the stage — and did so having no idea that a massive rock star was snapping the shot.
"A guy asked my dad if he could take a picture of him with the stage behind him," Wolf described in a funny tweet accompanied by a picture of the moment, "having no idea who he just asked, and that was my favorite moment from the @Tool show last night." He cross-posted the image on Instagram, where plenty of musicians like Myles Kennedy and Sevendust guitarist Clint Lowery had a good laugh, as well.
The unknowing subject of the photograph can be seen posing enthusiastically, throwing the peace sign inside the lit-up arena as Eddie frames up the shot nicely and snaps away. It may have been Wolf's top moment from the evening, but he also posted photos of the actual concert showing the gorgeous light show and state-of-the-art projections. Tool are currently on the road with Killing Joke on a North American tour supporting their hugely successful new album, Fear Inoculum.
