Body modification fan went blind for three weeks after getting her eyeballs inked

Amber Luke’s tattoos catapulted her to fame.
The Instagram star, who boasts 134,000 followers on Instagram, has spent more than £20,000 on body modifications over the years.
But while the 24-year-old is pleased with many of her inkings, there’s one she found difficult to come to terms with.
The influencer, from New South Wales, Australia, temporarily lost her sight when getting her eyeballs tattooed.
This experience has been enough to deter her from extreme procedures, although she’s still planning on building up her body art collection.
Amber, who has more than 200 tattoos, describes the eyeball inking as one of her most “brutal” sessions yet.
She told Barcroft TV: “I can't even begin to describe to you what the feeling was like, the best thing I can give you is once the eyeball was penetrated with the ink, it felt like [the tattoo artist] grabbed 10 shards of glass and rubbed it in my eye.”
“That happened four times per eye, that was pretty brutal.
“Unfortunately, my artist went too deep into my eyeball. If your eyeball procedure's done correctly, you're not supposed to go blind at all.
“I was blind for three weeks. That was pretty brutal.”
Amber’s account comes after other experts warned against eyeball inkings.
Previously, ophthalmologist Philip Rizzuto, a spokesman for the American Academy of Ophthalmology, warned body modification fans to avoid the procedure.
He remarked: "I would strongly recommend against it. Putting any kind of needle on the eye is very dangerous.
"We do that all the time, but we're trained for 12 to 18 years how to go about treating the eye."
Catt Gallinger, a Canadian tattoo fan, has also spoken about the tattoo dangers.
After her eyeball op went wrong, she suffered with blurred vision and pain.
She later remarked: "I would not recommend anyone to do this. I don't think it's worth the risk."
While Amber is adamant she’ll be swerving extreme body modification procedures in the future, she doesn’t plan on waving goodbye to her tattooist anytime soon.
The Aussie influencer has been getting inked for a decade.
She got her first body art aged 14, when she began battling depression.
Amber’s since been tattooed 200 times in a bid to “fully cover” her skin by 2020.
By taking a look at her Instagram, it seems that she’s almost there.
The alternative model has got tattooed as recently as last weekend, when she got ink etched into her arm.
