When do you put your Christmas tree up?

So my wife wants to put the tree up this weekend. Some of her friends already have, and god knows the stores already went into full Christmas mode (before Nov 11th/Remembrance Day even "which is disrespectful" - Don Cherry voice).

I'm staying firm on next Sunday though, December 1st. Personally I think it's a good balance of enjoying the holiday season, while not turning it into some shit that lasts a quarter of the year.

    What do you guys do?

The tree and other decorations go up the weekend after Thanksgiving. They come down on little Christmas, which is January 6th, 12 days after Christmas (yep, that's where the "12 days of Christmas" comes from), also known as the Feast of the Epiphany.

When we do a tree, we usually wait until the weekend after Thanksgiving. There's a house down the street from us that already has had one up for at least a week and they light it up every night.

    If music be the food of love, play on;
Give me excess of it, that, surfeiting,
The appetite may sicken, and so die.
That strain again! it had a dying fall:
O, it came o'er my ear like the sweet sound,
That breathes upon a bank of violets,
Stealing and giving odour! Enough; no more:
'Tis not so sweet now as it was before.
O spirit of love! how quick and fresh art thou,
    That, notwithstanding thy capacity
Receiveth as the sea, nought enters there,
Of what validity and pitch soe'er,
But falls into abatement and low price,
Even in a minute: so full of shapes is fancy
That it alone is high fantastical.
I wanted to be a Monk, but I never got the chants.

If we find a cat friendly option, then something small. They have tree wall decals also. Otherwise, just some alternative decorations.

    Yes. This was last year's.

That's ridiculous, but nowhere near as ridiculous as Walmart setting up their Christmas displays in the middle of September.
