Busted California high school lacrosse coach accused of sex acts with 14-year-old boy

By Joshua Rhett Miller - The New York Post

A lacrosse coach at a California high school has been arrested on suspicion of engaging in sex acts with a 14-year-old male student, police said.

Bijan Nickroo II, a 32-year-old coach of Simi Valley High School’s varsity lacrosse team, was arrested Monday on felony charges for having oral sex with a person under 16 and luring and soliciting a child via a computer, the Ventura County Star reports.

An investigation into Nickroo — who also worked as an assistant football coach and yard supervisor at the school — was launched Friday after a school resource officer submitted a report to Simi Valley police.

Detectives said they suspect Nickroo also operated a fake social media profile to solicit explicit selfies from students. Investigators are trying to identify the victims, but most of them attended Simi Valley High School, police said.

Nickroo, who started working at the school in 2012, was placed on administrative leave on Friday by the Simi Valley Unified School District, the newspaper reports.

“The SVUSD takes each and every reported act of misconduct seriously and is committed to aggressively pursuing any allegation to determine the truth and, if necessary, initiate the appropriate disciplinary or administrative measures,” district officials said in a statement.

Nickroo was ordered jailed in Ventura County on $500,000 bail. He’s set to be arraigned Wednesday, jail records show.

Investigators believe additional victims may come forward, possibly from a variety of schools in the area, the Los Angeles Times reports.

The parents of the teen allegedly victimized by Nickroo made the initial accusation to school officials, police told the newspaper.

Parents of other students at the school said they were shocked by the allegations.

“It’s scary,” Arianna Ruelas told KCBS. “You send your kids to school hoping that the people there will take care of them and will look out for their best interest. It’s very sad to see that things like this happen, and that they can lie so easily on social media.”
