I usually stay far far away from politics at work, but couldn't bite my tongue on this in the lunchroom. Colleagues saying 'He's going to start a war, so bad, why do that, blah blah...'
I reminded them gently that this guy might've been the most culpable individual of state sponsored terrorism in the Middle East, perhaps the world. From what I've read he was meeting with the guy who organized the Embassy attack, probably to congratulate him or some shit. It's not that complicated: if you don't want to be smoked by a predator drone... don't go meet with terrorists in Iraq!
Of course it's more complicated and nuanced, this guy was also beloved in Iran for being the face of 'standing up to America' for decades, but hopefully the Iranian people can see through the propaganda and understand this guy wasn't just paying lip service, he was a true piece of shit leading terrorist organizations and deserved to die.

It worries me too... it's a bold move to finally assassinate this POS. Part of me thinks and hopes nothing will happen because Iran must know they pushed it long enough, but the fear mongers online are saying 'people don't realize but this is going to be a defining moment of the decade.' Only time will tell.
