Our health officer Dr Bonnie has urged people to go outside and hang in groups of up to 10 for weeks - keeping some distance of course - but also reiterating the chance of getting this thing outdoors is exceptionally low. I mentioned we're going to phase 2, but we never actually went below phase 1 here (they hinted at it when cases were rising, but it never happened), unlike Ontario which had a full non-essential business shutdown and is just moving to phase 1 now. Provincial parks closed but not local ones, businesses and offices mostly closed but many had the option to stay open provided they could meet certain requirements - my favorite clothing store for example stayed open. People were invited to wear masks by Dr Bonnie if they felt better doing so, but not encouraged or required to. All that to say I think that this reasonable approach kept people bought in for the most part. From what I saw most people self governed very well because they understood and agreed with our measures.

But shit like mandatory masks at a beach and no sunbathing??? I'm starting to understand the dissenters in places like LA more with each passing day.

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) admitted late last week that it destroyed coronavirus lab samples during the initial months of the outbreak, which originated in Wuhan, China.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has repeatedly said that China refused to give scientists from other countries samples of the coronavirus that were taken from the initial people that contracted the disease.

The South China Morning Post reported:

Liu Dengfeng, an official with the National Health Commission’s science and education department, said this was done at unauthorised labs to “prevent the risk to laboratory biological safety and prevent secondary disasters caused by unidentified pathogens”.

“The remarks made by some US officials were taken out of context and intended to confuse,” he said at a briefing in Beijing.

However, China’s assertion that Pompeo’s claim about them destroying the lab samples was “taken out of context and intended to confuse” does not stand up well to scrutiny.

On May 6, Pompeo said during a State Department news conference [emphasis added]:

China saw then that it had an emerging public health crisis on its hands. They knew. China could have prevented the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people worldwide. China could have spared the world a descent into global economic malaise. They had a choice.

But instead, instead China covered up the outbreak in Wuhan. Its National Health Commission ordered virus samples destroyed on January 3rd. China “disappeared” brave Chinese citizens who raised alarms. It deployed its propaganda organs to denounce those who politely called for simple transparency.

And that brings us to today, 120 days on. China is still refusing to share the information we need to keep people safe, such as viral isolates, clinical specimens, and details about the many COVID-19 patients in December 2019, not to mention “patient zero.”

Nothing about Pompeo’s remarks were deceptive. It is a fact that China destroyed the lab samples, which they have now admitted to, which is in addition to other acts of deception that they have engaged in, including silencing whistleblowers, censoring terms on the internet related to the outbreak, intentionally lying about the extent of the outbreak in their country so they could hoard medical supplies, and intentionally lying about the origin of the outbreak, falsely claiming that the U.S. military brought the coronavirus to Wuhan.

China’s explanation that the reason that they destroyed the lab samples was for safety reasons should also be treated with suspicion due to the timeline of events because the day that China ordered that to happen, January 3, is the same day that the Trump administration first contacted the Chinese government and tried to send CDC officials into the country.

By destroying the lab samples, China has made it significantly harder to identify the exact place where the outbreak originated which comes as there is a growing internationally coalition demanding an investigation into China over the pandemic.

Hey, we're on the same page. I don't believe the hype at all. Maybe at the very beginning when we didn't know anything about this, but the longer it goes on, the more it is evident that the vast majority of the fear is all driven by the media and many democrats. They have people absolutely paranoid to even step foot outside their home and actively encourage them to turn in their neighbors and any business that aren't "doing the right thing" just as if we were living back in 1938 Nazi Germany.

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has reportedly ordered more than a hundred million people to go into lockdown after the government failed to stop the coronavirus outbreak originating in their country which has devastated the global economy.

“Some 108 million people in China’s northeast region are being plunged back under lockdown conditions as a new and growing cluster of infections causes a backslide in the nation’s return to normal,” Bloomberg News reported. “In an abrupt reversal of the re-opening taking place across the nation, cities in Jilin province have cut off trains and buses, shut schools and quarantined tens of thousands of people. The strict measures have dismayed many residents who had thought the worst of the nation’s epidemic was over.”

The report suggested that the reason for the reported mass lockdown was due to a “cluster of 34 infections” – a claim that could be met with skepticism given China’s lying about the pandemic that originated in Wuhan.

The Asia Times Financial reported that local Chinese Communist Party officials had been fired over the incident.

“Still, delivery services have been mostly halted and anti-fever medication is banned at drugstores to prevent people from hiding their symptoms,” Bloomberg News added. “The tension has spread to nearby areas, even if no cases have been reported officially in those places yet.”

The news comes as at least 116 nations have co-sponsored a resolution backing an investigation into the origins of the coronavirus, which originated in China.

Trump sent a scathing letter to the World Health Organization on Monday night, saying that the U.S. government had conducted an investigation into the WHO’s handling of the pandemic and determined that its offense were so extreme that they had 30 days to make “major” changes otherwise the U.S. would permanently cut funding to the organization and may withdraw its membership.

“It is clear the repeated missteps by you and your organization in responding to the pandemic have been extremely costly for the world,” Trump said in the letter. “The only way forward for the World Health Organization is if it can actually demonstrate independence from China. My administration has already started discussions with you on how to reform the organization. But action is needed quickly. We do not have time to waste. That is why it is my duty, as President of the United States, to inform you that, if the World Health Organization does not commit major substantive improvements within the next 30 days, I will make my temporary freeze of United States funding to the World Health Organization permanent and reconsider our membership in the organization. I cannot allow American taxpayer dollars to continue to finance an organization that, in its present state, is so clearly not serving America’s interests.”

CHINA coronavirus cover-up claims have intensified following the release of a study indicating cases in Wuhan could have been higher than 500,000.

China has faced brutal criticism from world leaders regarding the accuracy of its coronavirus cases data and cooperation with the World Health Organisation (WHO). New data has been revealed to show that coronavirus cases in Wuhan may have been higher than initially anticipated. This has sparked rumours the secretive communist state is misleading the world on the severity of the disease in the country.

A study measuring antibodies within the body was conducted on a random selection of 11,000 Wuhan residents in April.

It was concluded that 5 to 6 percent of people could have been infected with the disease.

With a population of 11 million in Wuhan the findings suggest that upwards of 500,000 people in the city could have already been infected with COVID-19.

The data of the study was reported by Beijing-based news outlet Caixin on May 12 and explained scientists believed the amount was higher than expected.

The report was published after Wuhan officials announced a 10-day plan to test all 11 million residents of the city that has resulted in long queues.

The initial antibody test, according to the state media outlet, said 11,000 residents from more than 100 gated communities across Wuhan's 13 districts were tested.

Fears have arisen the Caixin report will be taken down or censored by the Government as website Sina, the operator of the country's social media platform Weibo, has deleted the report.

Other reproductions of the same report have since been removed from Chinese news websites.

Chinese state newspaper Global Times responded on Tuesday by saying the results of the antibody study mentioned in the report were not based on an officially released source.

It cited analysts in claiming the samples “would be erroneous” for use as a city-wide estimate if they were not obtained randomly.

The response failed to mention the testing of 11,000 Wuhan residents done on April 14, and the report which China CDC officials were meant to release the following week.

This comes after Chinese President Xi Jinping announced China had turned the tide on the virus.

President Xi spoke at the opening of the 73rd World Health Assembly on Monday and addressed the coronavirus crisis.

He said: "In China, after making painstaking efforts and enormous sacrifice, we have turned the tide on the virus and protected the life and health of our people.

"All along, we have acted with openness, transparency and responsibility."
