Man arrested for fourth DUI tells cops just how high he is, deputies say

A Seminole man who was arrested on his fourth drunken driving charge refused to take a breath test, but told an arresting deputy that he was high on marijuana, arrest reports state.

Jonathan W. Connors, 32, told a deputy he was “high as f--k” after he was pulled over at about 1:15 a.m. Tuesday on Gulf Boulevard and 173rd Avenue, which is in North Redington Beach, arrest reports state.

Reports say deputies pulled him over because his tag light was too dim to be able to see his license plate.

Pinellas sheriff’s deputies also noted that Connors smelled of alcohol, had unsteady balance and had bloodshot and watery eyes. He agreed to go through field sobriety tests and “performed poorly,” reports state.

Connors also told deputies he had a bowl in his pocket and had smoked marijuana, reports state.

He was arrested on charges of DUI, driving with a suspended license, refusing to submit for testing and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released from the Pinellas County jail after posting $10,300 bail, records show.

Records show Connors’ previous DUI arrests were in December 2016, August 2012 and April 2012. He also has been charged several times with driving on a suspended or invalid license, records show.

He also has been cited or arrested four times for marijuana possession, four times with driving without headlights, twice with resisting arrest, twice with running a stop sign and once for having an open container, fleeing police, cocaine possession and battering a police officer, records show.
