    USA Guns and related topics

There are a lot of discussions about guns and ammo and related shit, so I thought we could discuss in one consistent thread.

Starting with my question, because it's all about me, bitches.

I am looking at a Glock I9 for personal protection. Pretty pricey though. Not planning to carry, want a full barrel, semi auto, prefer 9mm.

    Thoughts?

    I have a Beretta 92FS in 9mm and I love it.

I prefer a full frame gun over compacts, the size and weight mitigates recoil and gives you more control over follow up shots. I really like the double-action/single-action of the P90DC, but the 1911 will always have a special place in my heart.
I have looked hard at the Canik TP9DA for the duel function trigger.

Just a note for this thread, let's keep politics out of here, that always gets things heated and I don't want this thread to become a pissing match about each individuals stance on guns. Keep this about advice, sharing guns you own, topics like that please.

That Ruger is way less expensive than the Beretta or the Glock. Huh.

I have a Sig in .45 ACP, but they make 9mm models too. A Sig is a damn nice gun.

i have gone deer hunting a couple times (both successful in stocking up my freezer with venison), but was always using a shotgun from a friend of mine after sighting it in each time at the range. i have been debating getting one myself for awhile, but every time i did, i came up with more reasons not to get one. oops.

I'll be honest and say that I haven't been to the range in a while. I made an agreement with some advisors not to keep weapons in the house. For reasons... but times have changed.

Always have my FOID card as needed.

You can't rimshot yourself. It's like trying to lick your own ass. Just bad form.

Well I knew it was a pun and I would get gut-checked for it, so I tried to beat everyone to the punch..
