Let me preface this by saying that Jim Rome is probably my most favorite sports talk show host ever. I've listened to him off and on for 20 years. I love how he's irreverent, can be serious when need be, and the interviews he gets. It's top notch sports radio IMHO. Well today changed all that because today he was Jim Rome the SJW.

Between his opening monlogue and his guests/callers today I learned that:

• If you are a white male, you automatically have it easier than anyone else.
• That if you even dare mention the looting and destruction and rioting during the protests, then you are missing the point and you are putting "property damage" and "insurance companies" over the life of human beings.
• That black men are hunted down and assassinated (a caller's words) every day in this country.
• The Minnesota Vikings stadium is a "symbol of oppression" to black people because it was taxpayer funded and that money should have gone to police reform and minority organizations instead.
• All white people are "fragile".
• You need to be actively 'anti-racist' if you are white.
• This country is founded and built upon 'systemic and institutional racism' and we as white people benefit from it every day.
• These riots are because people of color have no other way to make their voices heard and they are tired of being 'murdered' at the hands of cops every day.

And those are just the major points I can remember off the top of my head.

Home update. We're good. They stopped about 1.5 miles to the east. My town issued a 3:00 pm curfew and are operating with the assistance of the state police and the national guard. The command operations vehicle is back across the street. So far, so good, but we'll see. At this point, not having weapons in the house feels irresponsible.

Those are Minneapolis police, telling people on their front porches in their quiet neighborhood to get back in their house and then firing paint pellets at them, because you know, normal people on their porches filming police marching down the street like jackbooted thugs are the biggest threat.

On a less satirical note, has it occurred to anyone else here how odd it is that none of the lawyers for the four policemen haven't crowed about how the bodycam recordings will exonerate one or more of the policemen? You know full well that if any of the recordings showed anything in even a remotely-favorable light to the police that the City or Police Union would have released them. The excuse that they can't be disclosed due to an ongoing investigation wouldn't hold any water if any of the officers demanded the release of his recording to exonerate him.

It seems to me that one of two possibilities exist here. First, the officers turned off the bodycams in an effort to destroy evidence and/or the bodycams are going to be so damning that protests are going to start all over again when they're released.
