I buy ammo every 3 months or so.
Do you use up the existing ammo before you buy more?

Nah, I mostly buy when shit goes on sale, I have the extra cash, and I have no bills hanging over my head. So basically, it's whenever shit goes on sale, because I rarely have outstanding bills, and after all the necessities are taken care of, there's always some extra cash laying around.

I make it a point to always have ammo on hand, just in case.

Do you do anything in particular to store it? I've been a bit negligent and just keeping mine in the original boxes in a drawer. I don't get out shooting hardly at all anymore so I'm worried I should start thinking about doing something with it so it lasts. Some of it is probably pushing 10 years old at this point.

I've got an 18-gun gun safe, but only 5 guns, so the rest of the space is taken up by the ammo. I keep them in the original boxes and just stack it on the shelves. You'd be surprised how many boxes of ammo you can shove in one small area. I do have several military style ammo canisters, but because everything fits in the gun safe, I keep the cans empty and out of the way. I have filled them up with boxes of ammo before, and they get insanely heavy. You've got to be a weightlifter to carry those around when they're full.

If you're worried about moisture build up, just buy a desiccant or two, nothing too expensive, and throw them where ever you're keeping your stuff. I've got a few in my safe, just in case. I rotate them out like every 6 months or so.

Honestly, I'd defer to Griff, because I really don't think too much about it. If he wants to answer the question, that is.

I have some .38 special ammo from the early 70's and some .45 auto from the 60's that will still go bang, it's been stored in sealed ammo cans inside. If old ammo shows signs of corrosion (usually green on brass) save for the zombies when that's all you have left. With that being said modern ammo isn't made to be stored for decades so you probably should keep it rotated.
When shooting older ammo care needs to taken for squib loads ( just enough force to push the bullet into the barrel but not out). If the "pew" seemed too quiet, clear the weapon and check that the barrel isn't obstructed before firing another. The only squib loads I've had is I left too much solvent in a .22 magazine. I loaded the mag then put away. The solvent got into the cartridge and weakened the powder. Had to push the bullet out with a cleaning rod.

Man, I sure hope they finally pull down that Chistopher Columbus statue in Grant Park, Chicago. Then the police can finally stop shooting unarmed black kids.

A little cultural cleansing never any harm. Look at China. Thriving!

Cmon, I'm sure many of you would enjoy a good laugh at Simpothy Mcveigh the courthouse bomber getting outed by his Trump loving grandma

or one of the other bomb throwers that literally btfo himself because he was on tape trashing inside the place with his shirt off....and the dumb ass has his name tattooed on his own shoulder...

So the full police body cam footage of the George Floyd incident was leaked today. Apparently, the footage doesn't fit the narrative that the left and the protesters were claiming.

    Ben Shapiro's take:

    Full leaked footage:

I said from the beginning that the body and dash cam footage would paint a different picture but the truth doesn't fit the narrative.
