Hayden Panettiere shows off new neck tattoo on Instagram

Hayden Panettiere has an eye looking out for her.

The “Nashville” star debuted her “newish” neck tattoo on her brand-new public Instagram account over the weekend.

“Newish ink #TheEyeOfRa 🌞,” Panettiere, 30, captioned the black-and-white photo.

Associated with the Egyptian sun god, the Eye of Ra is an ancient symbol of protection and royal authority.

Egyptian pharaohs painted the motif on amulets for protection and as a means of expelling all negative energy and restoring harmony.

Panettiere received her symbolic ink after a troubled year with her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Brian Hickerson. He was arrested for domestic violence again in February 2020 after he allegedly assaulted the actress.
