The Race Card George Floyd family attorney at Purdue: Having a parole officer is 'almost like having to report to the slavemaster'

Alex Munguia, Florida Campus Correspondent - Campus Reform

During an event at Purdue University, the lawyer for George Floyd's family, Benjamin Crump, drew a comparison between parole officers and "slavemasters."

Purdue University hosted Crump on September 10 to discuss the modern state of race relations in the United States, including modern protests, court trials, and the legal system, which he compared to “legalized genocide” in regards to the apparent racism within it.

Throughout the interview, Crump mainly focused on America’s current legal system, specifically mentioning those who have become convicted felons over “Trumped-up Charges.” He compared “the psychological effects of being a convicted felon and having to report to a probation officer, on a monthly basis, almost like having to report to the slavemaster.”

Crump further added that the current justice system “is killing you softly," referring to how charges are laid out against minority youth in a deliberate fashion across the nation. Additionally, he stated, “they are killing our children with these trumped-up felony convictions."

When asked what advice he would give young minority youth, he replied by saying there is no "if" you will get stopped by police, but "when."

"There is not if you'll get stopped by the police, it's when they'll be stopped by the police," Crump said. He further spoke about the police involved with the Jacob Blake incident as “having deliberate indifference as to whether this young Black man lives or dies.”

As the conversation moved more to the prison system, he went on to compare prison labor to the slave labor that was endured by American slaves centuries ago, saying, "even though the 13th Amendment freed the slaves, what was the caveat? It said 'except for punishment for crimes.'"

When discussing the war on drugs, he commented that “it was a way for them to conspire to discriminate, to make sure the people they wanted to be younger stronger slaves in the prison industrial complex to be achieved.”

Even internet connections differences across the United States were of an issue as “the fact that once this current administration came into power, you had the federal FCC did all the kind of deregulation that did not require the same level of broadband infrastructure go into more socioeconomic communities mainly, marginalized communities, but rather it went into more affluent communities based on different zip codes.”

He further stated, "This is akin to where they would tell slaves back in slavery, where they couldn't read."

Lastly, when discussing the 2020 election, he said that Republicans are attempting to suppress minority votes.

"For years and years that's what Republicans would do, because now that Democrats and minorities are starting to get into the game, they are saying "no, no that mail-in stuff is fraudulent, it's not reliable. We gotta not allow it so we can suppress the vote and marginalize their effort to turn out to vote.”

Campus Reform reached out to Crump for comment but did not receive a response in time for publication.

if he were legit and not just race baiting he would have been focusing on the vast numbers of victimless crimes that land people in jail

Ok, well, if you don't like parole officers, then we can just scrap parole altogether and keep the bastards in jail that much longer. Of course, we'll make sure to let the taxpayers know that it was you, Mr. Crump, that inspired this shift in justice reform. I'm sure they'll be very happy about it.

Or, you could take this horseshit back and tell your clients not to fuck up and get arrested to begin with, that way they won't need a parole officer after their sentence is served.

Or even better understand the systemic societal pressures and stresses including but not limited to parenting that contribute to the degeneration of mankind to the point where young adults are so ill-equipped, incompetent and psychologically unbalanced that they would even consider crime (given the stiff penalties)

I'd settle for parents telling their kids that law must be obeyed for the betterment of society, instead of telling them that whitey's evil, be afraid of the police, and do whatever they feel like.

    You said parents.
The plural is often not the case.
I really think a great deal of the degeneration of society comes from lack of a strong male role model in many kids lives.
    Doesn't excuse their shit.
If anything its their own fucking fault for breeding in a hopeless situation.

Trouble begins if the parents of the parents didn't know any better - then where is the supposed role model. I don't think either is a practicable or consistent solution

We could always try taking their kids from them and educating them that way.

They know right from wrong... The problem in the black community is their pride, self esteem, and machismo.. It Trumps everything.

Yeah, but if you have no skills and your brain won't cooperate it's only a matter of time before you do something wrong.

But really, who's fault is it if you have no skills? You get to go to school for free in this country all the way through grade 12. You can only blame so much on your home life. There are plenty of people that grew up in the ghetto in this country that have gone on to be very successful. At some point, at some age in your life, you have to take responsibility for the person you are. I mean FFS, you can join any branch of the military in this country and they will pay you to learn a trade for a short 4 year commitment. AND they will give you money for college after your enlistment is over.

There are a myriad of ways to advance yourself in this country.

I'm talking about a child here. A child needs guidance to develop. It definitely doesn't happen by itself. it's just a biological fact. Really our genetics, parents and the country were born in are the defining characteristics. Personal choice comes a bit later - and yes that's very important too.
