I'm with Navy Federal. I believe they're still pretty exclusive (military and civilian employees of the military), but since my parents got in (they both worked for the military as civilians, and Dad was Navy before that), they passed it on to me. I also have the option of opening some bank accounts with USAA through my brother, I just can't get their car insurance since Dad never had it even though he was eligible and he passed on before we all thought about it.

Actually, I've been looking at some high yield savings accounts and money market accounts from some online only banks (think Ally Bank), but the lack of brick and mortar kinda turns me off. But their rates are a damn sight better than most traditional institutions.

Same story here, the online banks have the best high interest accounts. As long as is CDIC insured I'd probably feel comfortable personally.

It didn't sink that much more today. The majority of my ETFs bounced back.

I think the worst is yet to come and there's going to be a recession at least, if not a depression.

$123/m is a ton... I figure you've gotta be making some big gains to get that down to around or under a 1% MER otherwise you're an idiot.

I usually see something like that from individual "experts" and automatically think: "So, that's how they make their money!"

Haha forgot that I had an account with the Treasury. I didn't have any info about my account and actually had to call them this morning to get access back. Had to answer about a bazillion question before I could get my account number. Seemed like overkill after I had answered several of the first questions, but I guess they need to err on the side of caution before granting the info.

Can't believe I opened this 20 years ago. I am going to redeem the 2 bonds with the worst interest rates and reinvest them in something else with the Treasury, maybe short term T-bills or something, they seem to have some fairly decent interest rates. Plus I don't feel like paying federal income tax on the interest the bonds earned, even if it wouldn't amount to all that much. Hard to believe that one bond at 0.7% interest was probably a great rate at the time.

After 20 years, the Treasury guarantees that the value of bond will double, even if the earned interest doesn't get it there, so I've got one that I've had more than 20 years. It's crazy lol.
