School apologises after asking children to draw very offensive owl

A headteacher has apologised to pupils and parents after a "lazy" teacher sent an offensive worksheet to hundreds of children.
Year Seven pupils at Holderness Academy and Sixth Form College were surprised when they downloaded the art worksheet which "clearly had not been checked before it was sent out".
Instead of sending a suitable worksheet, the teacher sent a meme by mistake, titled "how to draw an owl".
On first appearance it looks like a tutorial with the first instruction being "draw two circles", however the second instruction says "draw the rest of the f*****g owl".
Headteacher Scott Wilson said the teacher did not spot the offensive word before sending the work out, and immediately took it down after complaints, before issuing an apology for any offence caused.
But a dad, who did not wish to be named, said it was "lazy teaching." He said: "It's just lazy isn't it?
"The teacher has clearly just pulled off the first thing that comes up when you put 'how to draw an owl' into google and not even bothered to check it, before sending it to hundreds of pupils.
"I know teachers are under pressure, but that's just lazy. It clearly had not been checked before it was sent out."
Holderness Academy head Mr Wilson apologised for any offence caused by the latest homework blunder: "A member of staff was browsing the internet for some material to support the students’ learning with pencil drawing.
"The offensive word on the worksheet was not spotted and was posted as part of some scheduled work for the class.
"As soon as this was realised, the work was immediately taken down from our remote learning platform and an apology sent to parents and students.
"Our staff have received very positive feedback for our high quality remote provision but we wholeheartedly apologise for any offence caused."
The sister of one of the pupils said many of the pupils found it "hilarious."
She said: "This was sent to my younger sister in the home learning. They found it hilarious, as did all of the year seven students who put it in a group chat.
"They [my parents] found it funny but they were a bit mad that the teacher had not even read the work she set."
It comes a day after a teacher at Ings Primary School in east Hull sent pupils as young as nine links to a "vile" video with incest and sexual references studying at home by mistake.
The teacher had meant to sent a clip of former children's poet Michael Rosen performing The Car Trip - an innocent poem about siblings fighting in the back of a car during a journey with their mother.
However he sent a link to a parody version, called The Horrible Car Trip, which includes dubbed clips of Mr Rosen to make it seem like he is telling a wildly inappropriate story involving incest.
Children were instructed to watch the clip, before completing the activities on an attached powerpoint.
