It's topical worldwide, it's currently making news...... lighten up is all I can suggest. No one is having a go at anyone, it's just postings of what is in the news.

At least Lindsey is saying the right thing now:

"I am very glad I was vaccinated because without vaccination, I am certain I would not feel as well as I do now. My symptoms would be far worse."

US states brace for ‘avalanche’ of evictions as federal moratorium ends

For months, Denise Forcer would get stressed just by opening her closet. The crush of belongings stuffed inside reminded her she didn’t know where she would go or what she would do if her landlord followed through with the eviction notices they kept posting on the door of her south Florida apartment.

“I thought I was going to have a breakdown, I really did,” Forcer, 51, told the Guardian. “I didn’t know when those people were going to come banging on my door or put up another paper.”

Forcer, like millions of other Americans, has been protected from eviction by a moratorium imposed by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) that expires at the end of this week. Unlike most of these renters, Forcer was able to pay off roughly three months of owed rent thanks to the $47bn in rental assistance the government allocated to stave off evictions.

But only 6.5% of that money has been delivered, and advocates are concerned evictions will rise next week when renters are suddenly on the hook for months, if not a year, of unpaid rent.

I find this unfathomable. The guy was against everything that would have helped him. Not just passively, but actively. Gets covid-19 absolutely no mention of all the stuff he was saying.

In May, Apley posted an invitation for a “mask burning” being held at a bar in Cincinnati, commenting, “I wish I lived in the area!”
A couple of weeks earlier, he posted a news article about giveaways and incentives meant to encourage people to get vaccinated, writing, “Disgusting.”
Apley also railed against so-called vaccine passports, which restrict high-risk activities, such as indoor dining, to the fully vaccinated.
Recently, he suggested that mask mandates in Germany were akin to Nazism.
And when former Baltimore health commissioner Leana Wen celebrated good news this spring about the Pfizer vaccine’s efficacy, a seemingly outraged Apley called her “an absolute enemy of a free people.”
In one of numerous Facebook posts on the subject, Apley wrote, “Question: If businesses start allowing customers and employees go mask free only with VOLUNTARILY providing their vaccination record (presumably not a HIPPA [sic] violation), wouldn't that basically INVOLUNTARILY identify people who have chosen not to get vaccinated (Which might be indirectly creating a HIPPA [sic] violation)?”

So much for herd immunity - 33% of ex-covid patients getting reinfected

250 out of 738 ex-Covid patients in Kentucky got re-infected with the Delta variant. That's 33%. This includes 20% of them who had been fully vaccinated on top of having had a previous bout of Covid-19 (although for the unvaccinated, it was even worse). Obviously Delta has defeated all possible hope of herd immunity. Not that I was optimistic for it before; I've been saying that herd immunity by now is an impossible dream, but this kind of proves it.

For decades they have been guessing at which flu strains are likely to be the most common during the upcoming season and making new vaccines, you should be used to that by now.
So suck it up and get ready for your booster program to start.

Yes, I imagine there will be a booster every 6 months to a year for Covid.

Mr Trump filed a request for a preliminary injunction against Twitter on Friday in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

He argued the social media company was "coerced" by members of the US Congress to suspend his account for political reasons.

Twitter and several other social media platforms banned Trump from their services after a mob of his supporters attacked the US Capitol in a deadly riot on January 6.
