Police: Dracut man defecates in cruiser, twice in booking room following DWI arrest in Hudson, N.H.

HUDSON, N.H. — A Dracut man is accused of defecating in the back of a police cruiser and again on the Hudson Police Department’s booking room floor after he was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated on Saturday morning, police said.

In addition to DWI, 41-year-old Jason Shea was charged with disobeying an officer and three counts of criminal mischief — one count for each time he defecated on police property, according to a Hudson Police Department press release.

The incident began around 7:20 a.m. Saturday when a witness reported a “possible disturbance” occurring inside a white van in the Benson Park parking lot, police said. The details of the alleged disturbance were not provided by police.

Officers headed to the scene, but discovered the van had left the location prior to their arrival. Shortly after, police said they spotted the vehicle pulling into a driveway of a residence on Kimball Hill Road.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Shea, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, according to police. An investigation allegedly determined Shea was operating the van while under the influence. The 41-year-old was then taken into custody.

While at the Hudson Police Department, police said Shea defecated in two different areas of the booking room floor. It was also alleged Shea defecated in the back seat of the cruiser.

The Dracut man was held on preventative detention (no bail) and was transported to the Valley Street Jail in Manchester. He is scheduled to be arraigned at the 9th Circuit Court in Nashua on Monday.
