A woman was reportedly knocked unconscious in San Francisco Tuesday after a piece of marble siding fell off a building and struck her.

Patrick Burns, a San Francisco resident, told SFGATE that he was "just turning the corner from Hyde onto Geary" Monday evening at approximately 7:30 p.m.

"The marble siding," he said, "fell from a story above the woman and struck her."

It knocked her unconscious, he said, but he was not sure if the siding hit her on the head or shoulder.

Bystanders at the scene, including a bartender from the nearby With a Twist, helped aid the woman — whose identity remains unknown — before first responders arrived on the scene and took her to the hospital.

San Francisco Fire was on the scene, Burns said, and a spokesperson said that she had "minor injuries."

The San Francisco Department of Building Inspection, the spokesperson added, was later called to evaluate the building.

The building with the fallen marble slab is the Vietnamese restaurant Anh Hong — Bo 7 Mon in Lower Nob Hill, but it is unclear if the proprietors of the restaurant own the building.

A call to Anh Hong by SFGATE Wednesday morning was not answered.

Burns posted about the incident on Reddit, where he provided further information about the woman. She has blonde hair, and was wearing a brown sweater and rainbow beanie.

San Francisco police were not aware of the incident when contacted by SFGATE.
