WEST JORDAN — Charges were filed Monday against a man accused of stabbing another man 15 times and then running into a random house where he fired off about 30 rounds from three guns, according to police. It was the end of a violent string of events that happened on July 23.

That Friday, Aguilar was in the back seat of a car with a woman in the driver's seat and her 42-year-old boyfriend in the passenger seat, according to police.

While discussing a jewelry sale, Aguilar said, "I'll show you what a real gangster is," and proceeded to stab the front passenger multiple times in the neck and chest, charging documents state. Aguilar then got out of the car, stabbed the victim again, took a backpack with jewelry in it and ran, according to the charges.

The woman then drove her boyfriend to the hospital where employees found him still in the passenger seat "covered in blood and unresponsive," the charges state. The man "underwent emergency surgery to repair 15 stab wounds to his upper torso," according to the charges.

After Aguilar ran from the car, he went to a residence near 6900 S. Decora Way (4900 West). The homeowner told police Aguilar was "acting strange" before he eventually ran through her backyard and hopped the fence, the charges state. While police were talking to that homeowner, they heard gunshots to the west of them.

Investigators learned that Aguilar had run to another house, rang the doorbell, and when a girl answered the door, he pushed his way inside the house. A woman allegedly grabbed Aguilar by the arm and yelled at him several times "get out of my house."

After Aguilar was sent out of that residence, he ran into another house on Decora Way and began shooting from inside, the charges state.

"At one point, Aguilar started to shoot through the front door of the home. (A West Jordan police officer) stated he could see the dirt kick up on the front lawn where the rounds were hitting, according to the court documents. A resident, who was in the house at the time, escaped by crawling out a basement window.

Police eventually convinced Aguilar to come out of the house and surrender. It was reported he was carrying a loaded 12-gauge shotgun when he exited the house as well as a "dagger-style knife" with blood on it.

After Aguilar was in custody, police entered the residence where he had allegedly been shooting and found a rifle on the bed in the master bedroom, a revolver on the floor and "numerous holes in the interior walls of the home and in the front door," according to charging documents. "Police determined that Aguilar had fired at least 30 rounds from three different firearms."

At least two other homes and an SUV were struck by bullets that Aguilar fired from inside the house, the charges state.
