It also doesn't help that the largest retailer in the United States doesn't accept Google Pay (or Samsung Pay or Apple Pay):

They want your valuable data. Give them your valuable data, young man. Or else.

Walmart already has more than enough data on me I'm sure, they don't need any extra.

Yeah, I had no idea until I looked it up because last time I was at Walmart I looked everywhere on the self checkout and couldn't find anything about mobile payments. Hard to believe they just won't do it because you know if Walmart accepted it, it would be a huge push for people using it more.

They must make a killing selling the data to make that decision

I'm trying to figure out what 'extra' data they are getting from you by forcing you to use your physical card when you check out. I mean they can't use/sell your credit or debit card info, so what extra information are they getting? Your name and address from your card info to match against what you're buying I guess?

Pretty much. Companies pay big dollars for data in analytical trends. Have you ever bought something online and then have seen ads that seem tailored to what you've purchased in the past? How do you think that happens?

You would think all the important info is in what you purchased, which they would still know and the digital wallet would not

Found another place that doesn't accept mobile payments. King Soopers, which is part of the Kroger family of grocery stores doesn't take Google, Apple, or Samsung Pay. They have their own mobile payment thing like Walmart does that uses a QR code and not tap and pay methods.

Grocery Store....belongs to the Kroger family of stores, they have different brands depending on what part of the country it's based in.

Kroger and Food 4 Less are the only two that are familiar. I think Food 4 Less is down south.

Out of that list, I believe that Fry's is an electronics store and Fred Meyer is a jewelry store. I think the rest are all food stores. And I think Ralph's is a west coast chain. Not sure about the rest.
