The entire civilized world needs to revolt against personal technology. I agree. Stop. Live. Actually interact with people and the world.

I think back to when Blackberry was introduced. People where losing there minds exciting and obsessing. I resisted until I was told it was not an option. My theory? "Why would I want to be accessible 24/7? How is that beneficial to me?" But then the people that were moved up. The rest had adopt or perish.

When the first camera phone was introduced, I told my sister, who said "no good will come of that". She was right.

Mentioned this before in passing. Inordinate amount of children/people suffering from anxiety and depression. I believe it's tied to our new world of relating online and doing most of our preferred communicating through 'screens'.

I'm a big offender myself and if I told you what I haven't been doing outside in the past four years it would be embarrassing. It's my fault, I'm walking the path...but I can't seem to get off it. Every day it gets a little worse. Inside = safe, outside = shit. And if people knew my past, this isn't me. Exploring life used to be such a vibrant thing to do.

Peopling wears me out. And I've been on a tight budget all winter. Starting next week I'll be alone less and less as the island season gears up. In a few weeks I will be surrounded by people, very active and extremely busy nearly 24/7 until November. Media consumption will drop to an hour or so a day. Still don't have or want a smartphone.
By the end of the season I will be at my mental breaking point and begging for some alone time.
