last night one of the female characters phoned the other one (vampire to a witch) and the conversation literally went like this:

Elena - Hey Bonn, thanks for calling back
Bonnie - Elena! Is everything OK????
Elena - Yeah, the emergency is that I broke up with Damon...it's for good this time.
Bonnie - Oh no Elena are you alright???
Elena - Yeah...



Elena had become a vampire, she had just died, her body was possessed by her 500 year old vampire doppleganger while she was dead, and she was recently infected by a virus that makes vampires crave other vampire's blood.

Bonnie was a high ranking witch who died, then returned with the power to see both sides of the veil, living and dead... and now she's the conduit where living people who die pass right through her body on the way to the afterlife. Each time a soul passes through her, she becomes weak and almost collapses. Latest episode a group of people called the Travelers (witches who never age) lit themselves on fire, causing Bonnie to become the gateway for about 20 deaths in a row...she appears to die after the huge influx..


So they got some pretty cool ideas going on and the major scene is - Oh boo hoo, Damon dumped me and his hunky vampire brother Stefan won't talk to me
