I haven't seen the most recent one yet, but after the previous week's episode, it doesn't suck as bad, but it's still not that great IMO. He did go from being a history teacher to savior of the people, complete with full weapons and survival knowledge...so maybe the testosterone injection changed him?
I found him unlikable from the get-go so I'm not the best person to give an opinion...and don't get me started on Dan. That guy went from an army guy to full on babysitter and lover of the whole Mason family. Just about makes me sick when he has a scene with little Matt....seems like he's going to do something improper when they're alone
I didn't think he was all that unlikeable in the beginning. Irritating at times, yes, but still mostly on the likeable side. This season it's like he has a God complex. It's his way or the highway and he knows everything and blah blah blah. And yeah, Dan is just a shadow of what he used to be and I dunno why they wrote his character that way, especially when at the start of the series he was a total hard ass.

That's one area where The Walking Dead just kills other shows. The sense of stillness and abandonment of the towns they pass through...
