first thing that popped into my head when minisota or minniapolis (can't remember which and I'll be fucked if I know how to dpell them) popped up on the screen was "lol, this is how dee speaks"
uh, well, ya know, uhh they seem uh so polite ya know in the episodes
honest truth: my grandparents (both sides) spoke just like the seemingly exaggerated shows. my aunt (mom's sister) sounds just like it too. my parents fall into it from time to time, as does my sister. i have never been asked where i am from or been told i have the same accent
