umm...there were 300 passengers in that plane...chances are good there may be some stuff there

and the random monster...you are aware the entire show is about the mystery of the island? it's the entire premise

If you're going to be picky on the first episodes, try to remember that it's a drama/mystery/sci-fi/weird show...that's how it got the reputation.
There are plenty more WTF moments coming...

Sure, lots of people, got it....but the first random piece of luggage has exactly he needs in it. Yeah, those odds aren't astronomical or anything. And here we have an island, not of inconsequential size mind you, and there is some "unknown" monster on it that nobody on the ground got a look at. Where did they crash, Skull Island?

And one last gripe...a distress signal that's been playing for 16 years? Really? What is it powered by, uranium-235? And in all that time not one ship....not one plane...came close enough to pick up the signal? Okay

But I also said that I'm watching it and giving it a chance, so back off

Yes but you said 'waaaaaaaaay over the top' and I can list about 4600 things on shows like Supernatural or Fringe that ellipse that with ease.
It's not a documentary ffs It's in the same vein as those shows...

All will be explained....and if you don't try and pick apart every little detail, you may just enjoy the experience
Trust me, they will jump the shark 1000 times before you get to the end of 6 seasons.

The secondary premise is that a plane crashed on an island...where they crashed and maybe even why they crashed are the true questions of the show

What I like most about Lost is the cinematography, the writing and the acting.They have some real emotional episodes along with some great mysteries
